Not sure if the second Fati assist was intentional, but it was pure brilliance (if on purpose). Much more impressive than the back heel
Balde was a definite highlight of the first half. Played impressively in both halves of the field, and of course that beautiful assist to Lewy.
According to The Athletic, Umtiti going on loan, registering Torre as a Barcelona B player, and reducing some current player add ons is what the difference was. It’s not like Barcelona didn’t do anything to register him, not sure what needs explaining
pretty fun gotta change up that high line on set pieces though, just a matter of time before they get burned on it
Did not hit every target, but a damn fine transfer window. Need to start identifying and targeting some LBs and RBs for Jan. or next summer
would say today went pretty well got some squad rotation, hopefully a confidence boost for ferran, alba didn’t show anything that suggests he should get more minutes, +6 GD on inter
Its weird. Idk if it was Xavi's game plan, or just how they naturally end up playing, but Kessie played so far forward he was almost a False 9 a lot of the time and FdJ was also playing a bit forward and not DM/ Holding mid. Again, idk, maybe that's his game plan to just push everyone forward
Insane how quickly Lewa has made this his team. He’s had an immediate impact on Dembele and spoon fed Fati a goal today to hopefully bring his confidence back.
How we feeling today? Not confident by any means, but definitely not despondent like the last meeting. Bayern aren't in the best form, but they're still a juggernaut. On the flip, we are in pretty good form. Cautiously optimistic that we pull out the W.
Gavi is certainly starting so I’m curious how midfield control looks against Bayern. Also the biggest test for the defense. Will be able to see how much they’ve really improved.
Who do you think plays D today? Araujo is obviously a lock, but any of Christiansen/Kounde/Eric could be the pairing. I think Balde starts over Alba.
What? We could have 4 goals right now from them. Lewy with a couple great chances. Raphinha was inches wide to start this half. Add in that Pedri miss just now and we should definitely be on the scoreboard. Damn shame
Not taking your chances and repeatedly missing half a dozen great goal scoring opportunities isn’t going to cut it at Bayern. Raphina and Dembele (Raphina, specifically, gave away the ball way too much).
Not question not converting isn't going to cut it against Bayern, but to say the front 3 have been poor is not true. The work rate and the chances were there. The finishing was just off. Sure, this is a 2-0 game, but man, we played a lot better than this scorelines, imo.
seems like the worst possible scoreline they could have gotten given how that game was played annoying, but only that
Encouraged by that performance tbh Playing well and getting dos a cero’d happens. XG: Barca 2.00 vs 1.58 Bayern
depay reminds me of those dipshits you'd always see at youth baseball tryouts that thought they would look better if they dove for every ball during fielding drills instead of just making the easy, routine play
International break not starting so good. Kounde and Memphis hurt and returning to Barcelona for further medical evals. FdJ and Dembele hurt, but staying with their national teams.
Early, early reports are both Kounde's hamstring and Memphis's muscle tear are 3-4 wk injuries. That fucking sucks with a difficult Oct stretch coming up
*For the rest of THIS year. He'll miss the WC, but a 10 wk rehab should have him back for the new year and 2nd half of the season. It's good for his career. The doctors indicate this should almost ensure he never has this type of injury again. And at 23, he'll get a couple more shots at the WC.
Holy shit, what a tight offside call to bail us out of a clear handball penalty. I'll allow some VARcelona jeers on that one.
He had a couple of games where it looked where he was going to gel nicely with Lewa. Then that stretch of success got to his head and he's back to this same old shit. Frustrating. And now that fucking "cross"
