CHECOOOOOO That should shut the clickbaters from ‘the race’ up. What a phenomenal drive. Every time he opened a gap the safety car would come out. Very sure footed all race, save from a few late lock ups on slicks with Charles on his ass.
Just watched. The RB car is just phenomenal. Charles is within DRS range and with like 10 minutes to go they tell Checo “hey you need to go fast now” and it’s an almost 8 second gap at the end.
Charles couldn't cut the gap with DRS down the straights because the straight line speed of the RB is stupid fast
It really is so smart with what we’ve learned on these cars to trade in your design performance in the corners in your design for having a missile on the straights…makes overtaking way easier when you get DRS and enables you to survive a faster car with DRS much longer than you should obviously requires Mercs dominant design or Newey’s genius to not build a boat like Williams but it boy does that concept work well
I'll wake up on Sunday and enjoy it first thing. Really no point in me personally staying up late for it.
Your loss, I'll be shitposting in here while watching F1, Hawaii/San Diego State, and Oregon State/Stanford on my three TVs
going straight from the oregon-arizona game (6 pm) into the f1 race (10 pm) hopefully that'll happen in a good mood
How do affiliated businesses work? Like Mercedes/Ferrari can probably quite easily move manpower and research into their main car division if they wanted to. Red Bull has their powertrain division now. Like do they check on stuff like that or just like what the actual team spends? And if you own 2 teams wouldn't it be even easier to stay under the cap?
They have to state what is made in house and what is outsourced prior to the each season. FIA does check on these things throughout the year and also does a end of season audit. Redbull is facing big problems because of the 2021 season audit being currently done. Each team has it's own budget so in theory they could pull recorces and use the "B" team as its test subject at some point during the season. We already have seen Redbull, Ferrari and Mercedes pull some pretty talented engineers off the main teams and give them jobs at "b" teams. Alpha Tuari is probably the last full out "b" team in the field. Williams, Alpha Romero (soon to be Audi), Haas, McLaren all share engines from the top 3 but are owned independently from the major 3 and want to actually win at some point I would assume.
Can you just imagine the look on his face not getting to drive regularly? shield your eyes, he’s devastated
Given his performance over the last couple of years and the talk about him not giving a fuck anymore. Choosing to be a reserve driver does nothing but add fuel to the fire. Maybe he's banking on Lewis retiring?
I think he's gonna need to see himself getting worked while being in a championship winning car for that to happen.
Domino meme about Latifi crashing at Abu Dhabi last year and Lewis racing into his mid 40s to get that elusive 8th title
Although it would be poetic for Lewis to make it another 5 years in order to see Max tie him with 7 WDC
Thankfully I don't have to know that answer when saying under. But 4 in 5 is a big ask in a sport where things change so fast
2.5 is the right number on this one. Even if the regulations don't change between now and 2027, so much changes and you have to assume Mercedes will close the gap between now and then and Ferrari finally gets their head out of the asses and fire Mattia.
