Mattia has designed a fast car and rebuilt an entire new engine package. He’s probably not getting fired unless he refuses to me changes to the strategy team.
Mercedes is far behind imo. Their design is flawed and unless the FIA knee caps the leaders it might take a few seasons to get back. While Mercedes is figuring out this zero pod or decides to go back to side pods everyone else is pushing forward. Don’t know if the salary cap helps or hurts them in this regard.
It’s pretty ridiculous that the FIA didn’t establish the penalties for going over the cost cap before it was enacted.
To be fair soccer basically walked away from their version of cost cap (FFP) because they couldn’t win in a court of law. I presume this will be consistent and RB and others will get minimal to no penalties.
If they get a slap on the wrist it’s going to cause everything they put in place to crumble before it even got a chance to work. I don’t think the FIA wants this result
Yeah they've put themselves in a bad spot. The need something with teeth or everyone is just gonna laugh at the cap from now on, but Im sure they dont want to do anything drastic to alter the WDC or WCC.
I agree but Manchester city and PSG did basically the same thing a couple years ago and effectively broke FIFA/UEFA convention. https://amp.theguardian.com/footbal...accounting-sponsorships-uefa-champions-league
are there details yet as to how they overspent? obviously i take the, "misinterpretation of rules" stuff as bullshit but wondering if the details have come out
"And as a twist due to the cost cap I'll be driving this car on Sunday as well!" Where he will still win from 8th
That and they probably don't want to cloud what likely will be Max winning his second title with the stripping of his first.
If this is anything like any F1 scandal, well, ever, then the FIA will come out with a vague report that says something like RB had minor infractions based on different views on accounting principles and methodologies, get a fine for like $100k and that's it and then for the next decade there will be 2 sets of conspiracies theories certain RB did nothing wrong or everything wrong
I can already see people getting pre-mad about whatever this budgeting thing is. I'm excited for the shoe to drop and really see the tears flow.
“It’s it’s not specifically outlawed then it’s legal” is the foundational principle upon which Newey has built his legacy as the best car designer ever…least shocking thing ever that it would also apply to the financial regs personally I love it
Shouldn’t it tell you how much of a scam those crypto-currency companies are that they’re able to buy out tons of sponsorships all over sports?
This is why Haas will be fine letting him walk. He can learn how to keep the car in running condition on someone else's dime.
