Sasse is far from the worst. At least he talks a smart game but then votes straight party line. His books are pretty solid as well. his replacement will be hard line MAGA
Is Ben Sasse payback for Scott Frost? Because except for using UF as leverage to increase his initial contract amount, we had nothing to do with that.
Email from UF: Dear UF community, Please find below an important announcement regarding the University of Florida’s presidential search. After months of listening to UF community input and vetting hundreds of applicants, the 15-member Presidential Search Committee has unanimously recommended United States Senator Dr. Ben Sasse as the sole finalist to become the University of Florida’s 13th president. Dr. Sasse currently serves as a U.S. Senator from Nebraska and is a former college president, highly accomplished scholar and nationally recognized authority on higher education. The Committee’s recommendation will now go before the University of Florida Board of Trustees for its consideration at a meeting scheduled for November 1, 2022. Meanwhile, Dr. Sasse will visit our campus on Monday, October 10, to meet with and take questions from students, faculty, staff and other UF stakeholders. I wish to extend my deepest gratitude to Search Committee chair and fellow trustee Rahul Patel and the other members of the Search Committee, representing students, faculty, staff, administration, alumni and other UF stakeholders, for their hard and dedicated work. Finally, I extend my appreciation to you, the UF community, for your interest in and support for this vitally important undertaking. Sincerely, Mori Hosseini Chair, UF Board of Trustees
Honestly Sasse is pretty perfect for a university president. Sounds smart and pragmatic, writes and speaks well, and does absolutely nothing of substance.
Last road win for the Huskers- final game of 2020 at, you guessed it, Rutgers, the state university of New Jersey.
Listened to a husker insider on one of the RU pods this afternoon. I think it was discussed in this thread that Frost didn’t show up to a coach’s meeting in Ireland, but did he really stand up the ‘24 QB Raiola? Because he was hungover? If true, what a piece of shit.
Even though we’ll probably get our asses kicked tomorrow night, I have genuinely enjoyed learning more about Nebraska. I cannot say the same about Ohio State last week as the majority of their posters here are cunts.
Yeah Sasse is a shithead but we're about to see how bad of a replacement Ricketts can conjure up, it should be stunning.
Yeah idk I'm not one to let the Trumps and Boeberts of the world lower the moral bar for conservatism. By any other measure, Sasse is a piece of shit.
Maybe. But I’ve found Husk TMBers to generally be more knowledgeable. They also have a thread rule that no politics are allowed, which leads me to think at least of few of them are trumpsters.
How are y’all feeling about Busch at DC? He was one of the only decent hires our former HC made. He was also smart enough to realize our former HC wasn’t it and left after year 1 or 2. I think his simplifying the defense is going to pay big dividends the rest of the year. Y’all have as much if not more talent on that side of the ball as anyone in the West not named Iowa. Letting those guys just play seems like a no brainer.
Busch was actually here like 15 years ago and did a good job then too. Always been good at crootin and ST but didn’t know his DC chops. Our last DC had such a low bar that anything would be an improvement but we looked 100x better against Indiana than we have in idk most games under Chinander that were not last season.
Lots of dipshit posters think we’re bad because of bad talent but that’s totally not the case. It’s mostly coaching, retention, and development.
Our DB recruiting has been laughable. Some of the least fluid DBs I’ve ever seen at Nebraska. Would take a Ricketts and Bland over them.
We’re way worse than we should be because of the reasons I said tho. The talent isn’t nearly as bad as losing to GA Southern or this dogshit northwestern team
Yea, same Husker insider that relayed the Raiola story said that for all of Frost’s tenure the team didn’t actually tackle in practice…that’s not bad coaching, that’s coaching malpractice. If you put stock in the recruiting rankings, Nebraska has signed the highest rated class in the west for like 7 years running
Yeah that's because we clean up on all the low 4*s with huge academic and maturity red flags that blue bloods pass on. If you ever wanna feel really sad, do a quick audit on our 4* bust rate since Pelini took over
Allegedly, our staff didn’t want Gould due to injury issues and unclear what position he will play in college. But I think that’s bullshit. He wanted a name program whether it was you guys or USC and probably never should interest in Rutgers. In any case, he’s probably an example of a four star kid with high ceiling but very low floor too. Sometimes those guys hit, some times they don’t.
Rahmir somehow gonna get 20 touches in NJ tomorrow night. But seriously, wtf did he do to Applewhite/Whipple?
If you are known for saying good/reasonable things but then constantly vote the opposite, doesn’t that make you shittier than the donkey brained MTG’s of the world?
Sasse is a homophobic theocratic fascist who wants to impose his religious beliefs on the rest of us but he occasionally would pay lip service to finding Trump distasteful so he's less bad somehow
Absolutely 100% yes. Sasse is one of the biggest pieces of shit in Washington. Plus he's a spineless coward on top of it
Yeah, Grant is legit. Just wild to me with the way Rahmir finished last season that he doesn't see the field this year.
I took Butt +3 so you're welcome. My over 7 bet is still alive and if the gods are real, good King Mickey will deliver.
Window-dressing to make people with shitty, oppressive views feel a bit better about said views Gotta keep those feels good
idk what's worse, AC/DC still being played in Lincoln or swag surfin currently being played in Auburn. both pathetic
It’s actually surprising how many people seem to like it when it’s played in the stadium. I think it’s just a prime example of Nebraska fans getting excited about anything they think is “specific” to Nebraska or can be a “tradition”.
