Does bring new light to his "I'm trying to run a business" comment at the presser, a comment which I found kind of odd at the time but didn't really think much of it. Wonder what his backstage duties were.
The Impact Bound for Glory card for tonight is looking kinda nice. Been hearing for a while now that the product has been on the upswing so might just have to check it out.
How is Impact still in business? They appear to get TV ratings under 100k weekly. And are getting 3rd-4th tier talent. They just running like a single a baseball team and paying everyone shit and selling them on the hope they can get out of Impact and go to aew or WWE if they do well?
Impact is basically a weed that can’t be killed. But they do seem to have a lot of international TV deals that keep them somewhat profitable. Plus they are owned by Anthem which owns the Fight Network in Canada, so Impact provides them lots of content.
every time I hear about an Impact ppv my immediate reaction is always surprise that they're still a thing
I've only watched 2 Impact PPVs within the last year (other was anniversary show PPV which was pretty good) and have seen some highlights here and there. It legitimately looks like they run in the same place every week like NXT does.
you can tell none of these play fighters actually follow real sports, they're stupid to sign a 5 year deal right now before the new TV deals are locked in. Sign a short term contract that expires around the new TV deals and make the companies bid against one another
I think Mox is content to just be in AEW. He gets to do what he wants, make a shit load of money and not have to deal with the WWE schedule. Guy has it made for life there.
Who's matching or exceeding what AEW is going to offer Moxley since I imagine there is extremely little chance he ever goes back to WWE? But regardless, should have waited.
The X Division championship match of Speeedball vs. Kazarian and this men's tag match of Honor No More vs Motor City Machine Guns have been some good ass matches
the WWE schedule seems pretty simple these days, you're only really working the weekend. Plus he's out there getting Hep C from Nick Gage on his days off anyways WWE would've thrown him a huge bag if he made it seem like he'd be down for a Shield reunion, not to mention AEW's main event scene is all sorts of in flux right now with Punk/Kenny out, he should've made Tony Khan sweat a bit more but Mox always struck me as a bit of a mark.
It’s better than it was but it’s still 3 to 4 days a week not including travel. AEW is 1 show a week. 5 days off. Pretty good setup.
Excellent season premiere for Smackdown, although they quickly went from subtle clues hinting at Bray Wyatt’s return to outright beating us over the head with the final clues. That pop is going to be tremendous tomorrow night.
Been a rough week for the Varsity Blonds. Julia Hart buries them on an AEW podcast, they get squashed by Nese and Woods, and now they have to lose their tag team name
Trent vs. Pac was great Also, Jericho with the call back to the first ROH show ever (The Era of Honor Begins) when he said the Ring of Jericho era has begun
Looking at that card and the only thing I'd even want to see is Mickie James, who continues to age very well
he saw HHH say that blading was outdated and unnecessary and immediately went to Tony khan’s office to work on a max extension. He’s not gonna be content until his forehead has more marks on it than a prisoner’s cell wall
If y’all are mad about a Brazilian tap, that’s what they want. Now the fans are extremely behind Sheamus for tonight. Dubious win cements Imperium as the heels and continues what should be a lengthy and prestigious IC reign for Gunther. I think he puts on a bunch of high class matches over the next several months and they ultimately run it back to have Sheamus cap off his grand slam.
