Analogy for Iowa: they are our gym-mirror reflection. -our defense is good -their defense is great -their offense is bad -our offense is putrid worried we struggle to break 150 yards of offense. I don’t see us winning this game. It’s either gonna be a frustrating, ugly 7-3 type of game, or we turn the ball over and it gets ugly fast. Here’s to hoping I’m wrong and we don’t make Petras look like a Heisman candidate.
They are a bit of a mirror image, they also have an elite punter in Tory Taylor. Their offense is way worse than ours this season though. Stats on the season out of 131 FBS teams Yards per game: Rutgers - 369.3 (91st) Iowa - 217.7 (131st, literally last) Scoring Offense: Rutgers - 34.7 (56th) Iowa - 13.7 (124th) First Downs: Rutgers - 62 (81st) Iowa - 36 (130th, the only team worse has only played 2 games) Passing Offense: Rutgers - 142.0 yards per game (119th) Iowa - 125.3 yards per game (124th) Rushing Offense: Rutgers - 227.3 yards per game (20th) Iowa - 92.3 yards per game (117th) 3rd Down Conversion Rate: Rutgers - 39.0% (72nd) Iowa - 31.8% (110th) Completion Percentage: Rutgers - 59.4% (93rd) Iowa - 47.4% (126th) Time of Posesssion: Rutgers - 32 minutes per game (30th) Iowa - 27 minutes per game (112th) Turnovers Lost: Rutgers - 2 (17th) Iowa - 5 (70th) Passing Efficiency: Rutgers - 129.66 (86th) Iowa - 87.03 (127th)
I feel like our offensive stats are skewed by the Wagner game. I get that Iowa played an FCS opponent too, but SDak State would probably beat Wagner by as much as we did. Of the three games both teams have played thus far, I think last week’s opponents are the most comparable (in terms of talent level): Nevada and Temple. Iowa beat Nevada 27-0 We all know what we did against Temple. Of course, the transitive property doesn’t apply, but it seems like Iowa figured out some things offensively last week, namely that they have a stud freshman RB to lean on. Meanwhile, our offense has looked pretty much the same as it did all of last year, except now we have a less experienced QB and less talented/accomplished players at RB1 and WR1. Granted the O line looks better, but imo, not so much better that it would make up for those deficits.
If we continue to blow that fucking train horn over the student section on third downs I will never pay to attend another live Rutgers sporting event ever again. I'll still be a fan and watch on TV while eating from a nice spread, but that pussy bitch athletic department will never see another dime from me in any form if I can help it. You guys know EXACTLY what they were doing yesterday.
I know we never had a chance…but some of these calls/no calls are really infuriating. These fucks don’t need any more help!
He honestly feels deep down that he couldn't be replaced by a smoking chimp and that team of millionaires wouldn't miss a beat. He legit thinks he's stirring the drink.
None of our quarterbacks have the ability to throw in a tight window, hence all we throw in the red zone is 50/50 lobs
Langan might be the most overrated player we’ve had in awhile. these announcers are also clearly unfamiliar with Vedral and his throwing ability
WOAT coverage team. Color guy just suggested that play was held up because they were checking targeting from 2 plays ago.
Still doesn't explain why we're rotating them. I'm done with this shit. Pick someone, stick with him.
They need to pay any qb with a pulse to come to RU. Don’t think wimsatt is going to be any good either.
Forget what mod intimated that Gavin wasn’t playing more before he got hurt because he turned the ball over too much. At this point we’re playing a kid who turns it over just the same and doesn’t have half the ceiling. If/when he’s healthy, I don’t want to see Simon take another snap
