Trillium Fenway is the easiest imo. There’s also Notch beer garden on Charles River Speedway (they make good German beer) if you’re going to be in Seaport area, hit up Row 34 for a good beer + raw bar / sea food experience. If you like Belgian beers, take the Green C line to Publick House in Brookline.
Some random Thursday night BS making room in cellar/frig. Cleared out some 3-8 year old bottles amongst friends
Years ago I had Pliny the Elder from Russian River Brewery while I was in Philadelphia. Loved it. Can't get it in Florida. Will be visiting the brewery in Santa Rosa, CA in a couple days. Excited.
What breweries should I try to get to in San Diego? I know the big ones(Stone, Ballast Point, Modern Times) but there are so many others out there it is hard to choose. I haven’t paid as much attention to non Texas breweries in a while so I don’t know of Anything outside the older more national ones.
Where are you staying? Went to the Stone near Gaslight and Ballast Point in Little Italy before dinner one night. Ballast Point was worth the visit and had some interesting non-mainstream stuff. Stone was kind of meh. Didn't go to any of the Modern Times but we end to one in LA a few years before so it wasn't high on my list. We went over a long weekend and ended up hitting a bunch of locals. The Sunday we spent in North Park which I highly recommend if you want to hit a bunch and it's just a much more relaxed vibe than Gaslight. There are more there than the ones I list (Belching Beaver, Modern Times, etc.). Pomegranate is really good if you like Georgian/Eastern European cuisine. Amplified (Gaslight) Half Door (Gaslight) Bolt (Little Italy) Original 40 (North Park) Thorn (North Park) Rip Current (North Park) Fall (North Park) Mike Hess (Waterfront) Eppig (Waterfront) A lot of the SD breweries have multiple locations but, for my tastes, North Park is the best area. Unless you're looking to party until 2 AM every night I'd avoid Gaslight. We stayed in an Airbnb there. One thing about the SD breweries is they all make really good beer but I wasn't blown away by any of them. Just something to keep in mind. I wouldn't say any of them are "musts."
It’s another bigger one but I love Coronado Brewing. They have some great IPA’s. Skip the brewpub on Coronado and go to their Brewery north of downtown. Never busy and pet friendly.
I’m going to be at the Hard Rock for a conference. Hitting up La Jolla this afternoon with my little ones. Not sure what this is but is it solid.
There’s a Bottlecraft right near Ballast Point that I hit every trip. Gives you all the CA & a bunch of great breweries from around the country. If you’re luck you may get some of that VTA nectar too
North Park Beer Co. Their hoppy beer kills. They just cleaned up at GABF including small brewery of the year
Yooooo…. Pliny the Younger is only avail 2 weeks a year and server told me there would be a 5 hour wait if they had it lol. Enjoying an Elder and gf got a flight- man they have some good beers.
Southern California. They’ve expanded the brewery and distro so it’s easier to get now. Grabbed this at a local Whole Foods.
Humble Sea that good? Seen they're stuff showing up in AZ lately. Been mostly trying to focus on local stuff because frankly the selection has become too overwhelming. #firstworldbeerproblems
