Brandel knowing how to get interaction. If he doesnt win again, we need all the players at the Hero one year to magically all play terribly and lay down for him to break Snead's shitty record
Tournament club was an amazing suggestion, it was like playing ironhorse from home. Booked as a solo but got paired up with an uncle and his nephew and it was a great time.
I work in home health and I had a patient today who lives on the right side of a par 5 fairway. Pulled out a giant bucket of balls that land in their yard and let me take whatever, got about 30 pro v1/tp5/chrome softs
I’ve been saying this. More of these interactions, please. Let us know what they’re thinking, their plan, how they’re imagining the shot, their targets.
My mom lives in a landing zone to the right of a par 4 next to an apartment course. I haven’t paid for golf balls in the last 20 years.
Good lord did I go off on golfer today. Dude blasted a ball at the green while I was on it and had my back to him. Didn’t even know he was there since he was skipping around holes this AM. Grabbed his ball off the green, threw it into the river and cussed him out. Felt amazing.
I prefer the passive aggressive move of teeing the ball up wherever it landed and not saying a thing.
Sort of. He has a history of being a POS on the course. Treating it like a driving range, etc… I told him I didn’t want an apology, I wanted him to change his behavior. Because, after getting blasted in the head, a “sorry” wouldn’t get my heart beating again and “sorry” wouldn’t do a lot for my family when I’m gone.
Hitting into someone on the course is incredibly dumb and irresponsible but maybe a bit overdramatic here...I don't know the statistics but I would guess the chances of critical injury from a golf ball, much less dying are incredibly miniscule.
Come over to my club. I’ll let you stand on a green with your back facing my crew while we blast shots at you. Let me know how you feel. Just at one of the ND courses a week or so ago someone got blasted in the head from a ball. Happens a lot more than you’d think.
I had a rough stretch at Bobby J in Atlanta (RIP) many years ago where I hit into the group ahead of me twice in a span of 3-4 holes. First time I didn't know they were there because there was a giant tree/vegetation area in the way but the ball apparently landed by their feet. Second time was an approach to a green where they were teeing off in the tee box to the right of the green. I pushed a wedge right but I thought it was hit fat. It wasn't. I got all of it and it landed by their feet again. Just a stupid brainfart that I didn't say fore. These guys started yelling and I thought I was about to get my ass kicked. I apologized profusely and luckily the beer cart was right there. Spent like $50 buying them drinks I felt so bad. They ended up begin really cool about it. So yeah now I just yell fore whenever it's remotely close.
I usually hold off on hitting when I think “if I hit it good, it’ll hit into them” then I proceed to chunk it and embarrass myself.
I watched a dude leave in an ambulance after taking an errant tee shot off the back of the head last year. It's a dangerous and shitty thing to do
Yes. I downplayed someone yelling at another person about them getting killed from a golf ball. Guilty.
A guy that used to be a rep for one of my vendors lost an eye after getting hit in the head. He said it literally sounded like a shotgun went off and it hit him square in the eye.
I was on a short par-4 once and I hit the best drive of my life and it trickled up onto the very edge of a green where people were putting. One of the guys in the group waited for me and despite my apology tried to start a fight, saying I could've killed them . I handed him my scorecard and said "does this look like someone who thought he could drive a green?!" and that made the other three in his group laugh so hard Then I four-putted for bogey, obviously, to prove my point
Anecdotal obviously but the only guys I see try to fight on the course are 50+ years old. It's really strange
Correct in this case too. I would guess late 50s/early 60s. The ball bounced like 60 yards away from them and rolled like 20 yards from them too. I get it was a mistake on my part but we've played the whole round behind you and I never came close to you, just take the apology dude
The 2 times I've had someone try to start shit on the course it was that exact age bracket. The last time was incredible because it was 2 dudes in their late 50s who were fat and drunk trying to fight 4 relatively athletic guys in their early 30s. It would've been a massacre. The most belligerent was 5'6 in shoes, it was hilarious
I got smoked in the back in high school during a meet right as I was getting ready to hit. Took my breath away and I dropped like a rock. The resulting bruise and welt I had lasted a long time. I usually don't worry too much anymore about getting hit though.
I'm significantly more worried about getting hit from another hole than I am from the people behind me, especially on city courses that are tight
See, I’d be impressed if a ball rolled up to me on a par 4 green, knowing it came from the tee box. I usually only get upset when a ball rolls past and they didn’t yell fore. And by upset, I mean I bitch to my playing partners.
the last time I was hit into it was on a hole with a blind spot, but the cart alerts you (audibly, and on screen) that there is a blind spot, and it has cart GPS. I was in the fairway (humble brag) and he hit it directly over my head as I was over my ball (yeah, I don't hit it long). I threw his ball backwards towards the tee box. He felt like shit, though, he said so it might have been an honest mistake.
I used to get all fired up when I was younger. But then I realized 99% of the time it’s an accident. I’ve done it before by mistake and felt like an asshole, so figure escalating it won’t help anything. plus these days you never know what kind of asshole is carrying a gun
