What ex ATL pro athletes who weren't from Atlanta prior to becoming pro athletes, chose to stay in Atlanta after their careers were over? There are a ton that are from here, who still live here (Franceour, McCann, Tuggle, etc, the list goes on), but I'm more interested in the players who chose to stay here versus the other places they played despite not being from here.

So here are some that I can think of who played for the Hawks/Falcons/Braves, but didn't go to HS in Georgia, that live here now....

    Morten Andersen
    Jamal Anderson
    Dominique Wilkins
Mark DeRosa (Notable mainly because of his role now vs his playing days)
    Andruw Jones
    Otis Nixon
    Chipper Jones
Tom Glavine (counting him because he lived here a while, but is now in the FL panhandle)
    John Smoltz
    Kroy Biermann
Dikembe Mutumbo (I think? I know his foundation is here.)
Javy Lopez (maybe? This could also be the pitcher Javier Lopez who for sure lives here, but never played for the Braves. Not sure if they both live here.)

    Does Andre Rison live here?

While looking it up I saw something about Travis Hall (ex Falcon DE from Utah) living here, but I don't know is he's notable or if it's even still accurate. I know there are a lot more than that, but that was just a few I could think of off the top of my head.

Cam Newton's dumbass bought it. So not going to be a replacement option for pregame, basically have to wait for centennial yards to come online. Figured his failing bbq joint next door would be enough.

These pro sports guys ought to realize how futile investing in restaurants are.

The airport lines the last few months needs to be addressed at the city level. The security line was like out the door this morning. Thankfully I have priority but I won’t next year.

Agree it has been ridiculous for early AM flights. Once you get past the 6-9am rush though it dies down considerably. What’s the city going to do though? Ask the airlines to book less seats/flights like they did at Heathrow?

I have TSApre + Clear and it’s still long. Opting in to the Face ID that Delta offers is the way. Still have to sit in the line, but once you get to TSA/Clear fork there is another line just for the opt-ins and it’s wayyy faster

Clear lines have been 30-45 minutes too. Almost not worth it. Seems like they always have lanes available in general security too

    Damn straight.

Did Yonah Mountain with the gf and my dog yesterday, trail was packed - had to park at least half a mile from the trailhead.

Did Yonah Mountain vineyards after that with some live music on the patio, weather was beautiful. Perfect day.

Side note, that vineyard is easily the best and biggest I’ve been to in North GA

    hello fine people of Atlanta.

i have a work trip to your city coming up, staying in Midtown (probably The Moxy).

what's the best thing to eat around there? coming from NYC and looking for local stuff. someone suggested Fox Bros BBQ, any good?

work appropriate, so dive is probably out. doesn't have to be super upscale though, no Bordeaux and white table cloths.

gastropub level of fancy seems about right.

alternatively, would be down with "hole in the wall" vibe if the food was stellar.

The Vortex is right up your alley then. It’s all suicide girls, good burgers/booze, and sort of an Atlanta institution.

Depending on your coworkers, it may not be safe for work. It’s a little risqué with the artwork, vibe, etc.

Anyone ever been to Jaemor Farms? Went for the first time on Sunday after driving by it so many times on our way up to Clarkesville, and it was a fucking madhouse. I'm assuming this is probably the worst time to go, but didn't realize it was like an amusement park of a farm with a corn maze, hay rides, and everything else.

However; their store is really cool.

Did the Hike Inn Trail loop yesterday, 6 miles on the Hike Inn Trail and 4 miles and change on the AT approach trail back to the trail head. Felt like New England, the leaves are spectacular at the moment. I recommend getting out there ASAP, probably gone in 10-14 days

Also found there is a cool place to stay overnight called the Len Foote Hike inn. Three buildings out in the middle of the woods, common area, showers / bunk room, and a game room. Staff cooks dinner and bfast. We hiked thru but going to come back do the the Inn soon

That shit was fucking delicious. Def recommended. Was also the most expensive dinner I've ever had by a long shot
