Yormark said he wanted to expand into a 4th time zone, just didn't know he was talking basketball. I'm not familiar with how money is distributed on the basketball side, would Gonzaga stand to make way more money in the Big12? If so it's probably worth it to them to face a slightly harder route to the tournament.
I guess that $50 mil a year will make up the cost of sending our women’s sport teams 6hrs to kick the shit out of Gonzaga but our mens bball team woof.
It’s a shame that Spokane tore down its 35,000 seat stadium earlier this year. Only need to average 15,000 fans at home games to have a FBS team. New stadium only seats 5,000. Would have been fun to see Zags football.
i'd have to imagine football is a lot more money than college basketball which is why they'd rather have SDSU than a school that doesn't have a football team, right?
Writing was on the wall as soon as the WCC made concessions on revenue distribution and scheduling. That patches things up for a little while but it's never a long-term solution. Also, this absolutely sucks for Saint Mary's.
I hope the B12 adds Gonzaga. Then Mark Few quits or is unexpectedly fired in the offseason and the B12 realizes it added West Coast Wake Forest.
I think they have the foundation but you bring up a good point in that they have no track record without him outside of that year with Monson in '98. If Few leaves and they become mid, it's just a small Jesuit school in Spokane you're stuck with.
I take it back. The friendship between this cat and horse is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.
