“im not taking this personal, you’re taking it personal!” - guy who is 100% without a doubt taking this personal
Funny how these talking points have already shown up in this thread that it's the media's fault and that the left is out to get you
Whammy itt reminds me of me when Nikola Jokic has an emotional outburst and shoves/hits someone. Bending over backwards to find ways to rationalize and justify
Just cracked myself up picturing Tesla security escorting a guy out of a server room what was assigned to hold the bent power cord end at just the right angle and it all going down.
Yeah he's baking in the idea that Elon is wealthy so everything he does is cold and logical when we've already had people say that isn't what's happening.
It's really fascinating how you've imagined this whole other universe, where things are moving rationally. The whole timeline, from announcing the original buyout offer over twitter, to signing the contract waiving all due diligence, to suing to void the deal, then backing out of the lawsuit, then coming in and seemingly burning down the company and firing half the employees in a week is obviously utterly bizarre. In your universe, it's all normal blocking and tackling during a merger / acquisition.
Like, the most obvious answer here is that Musk is not a rational person right now. Hasn’t been for a long time. Money and fame broke his brain. It happens. Nothing more to it.
If anyone had bothered to read about this from sources other than cultural influencers, this has all been telegraphed for months now. Seriously. Calacanis and Sacks alluded almost two months ago to gutting headcount and bringing in Tesla resources early on
Whammy in his Tesla tee, tears in his eyes as he posts itt. He glances over to his Musk bobblehead, "Daddy Elon, please give me the strength and determination to post through the pain, as you so often do."
Destroying your #1 source of revenue. That's just M&A 101. Any 28 y/o PE associate right out of business school knows that.
Glad to know guys on a pod cast aren't considered influencers. Durr they were investors first. All influencers were something else first.
i gotta say i rly enjoy Whammy at least coming in here and sharing his side bc it makes the thread more entertaining for me to read
Is that real? If so I'm just standing in awe of his dedication to being a shitposter even at the risk of losing billions of dollars. That's dedication few here on the-mainboard dot com can match.
Am I crazy for thinking Twitter shouldn't be owned by an individual? Idk who should, government ownership comes with it's own issues, but one person being able to skew the direction of society so much is just irresponsible. Facebook is the same way honestly. Neither should be for profit companies either. They are utilities at this point.
too late for that once they went public. We'd be better off if that was the case. But now that they went public, they must monetize everything. Most of all, they have to monetize your attention. And constantly get more of your attention in order to beat the competitors.
Ehh, Twitter just got sold. Going public doesn't mean public forever. The fed could have paid $50b for it and given it to some socially responsible group to oversee. Hell give it to AP or Reuters and let it be their baby. idk I know it's way more complicated than I'm making it out to be but there has to be w ay to keep something so influential out of the hands of a right wing nut job.
Let's eliminate private ownership altogether. Keep for profit entities in the hands of the workers, not in the hands of one rich asshole
Remember folks "Free Speech" always = White men not being able to say racial slurs to minorities or talk badly about women. You should be weary of anyone saying that shit
