Celtic were quite poor but they did a lot of good things and came out sharp for a change and more importantly no one got hurt
Carvajal you dipshit thank god Courtios is there to save the day again edit - lol give me a motherfucking break with this dumb shit
bleh this team is just so fucking lackadaisical and totally shuts off too fucking often no killer instinct whatsoever
Full disclosure. I’m not a huge soccer fan. I’m a fair weather ATL United fan. But have always wanted to check out European teams and it’s never lined up right with my other trips. Tried to go to a Barca match but it was a UEFA match I think against Bayern, so tickets were $3-400. The crowd was pretty good. I’d say 85-90% full. They’re still doing renovations so lots of things were kinda out of whack and scaffolding everywhere. Concessions were basically 2 guys with coolers. Bathrooms were sporadic. The spot where the main club fans with drums and flags right behind the goal were covered and they had to sit a section up, in the 2nd pic. The easy miss by Modric? Was a funny reaction. Also they don’t serve alcohol. Overall was a really cool experience. High fives some strangers. Was only a short cab ride away from my hotel so that was cool too. I’m gonna try to keep up with them a little going forward. I’ve always wanted to keep up with soccer more and not just the WC. Hala Madrid!
that’s awesome man, glad you enjoyed your experience and were able to see a lot of the big names play! If you don’t mind me asking, how’d you end up in Madrid? I’ve been curious how the ongoing construction has impacted the matchday atmosphere with everything being sort of only partially accessible. As you mentioned, they’ve been forced to move the Surs from their usual spot behind the southern goal up high and much further from the pitch which isn’t nearly as fun or ideal either. Sounds like perhaps a lot of the food/drink/hospitality amenities may not be fully available currently either, though I’m pretty sure it’s still Spanish law that prohibits alcohol sales inside stadiums nation wide. Very cool pictures by the way. Always happy for & jealous of anyone that gets to visit the Bernabeu.
I found a cheap flight back in April for a round trip outta PHX. So I had about 2 1/2 weeks in Spain. The only other Liga game that fit was gonna be a Real Betis game in Seville. lol. Glad it worked out in Madrid.
Wow thats awesome man, Spain is such an incredibly awesome place. Where else did you visit while you were there? The Seville Derby would have been pretty wild to see as well though if you could only hit up one you def made the right call.
Was there for about two and a half weeks. Stayed in Barcelona, Malaga, Granada, Seville and Madrid. Most of S Spain. Would’ve liked to venture into the northern part but felt I would’ve been rushing too much. Spain is so cool. Learned about their Civil War and other histories with the Muslims and then the Christian Reconquest. Great food. I need to post in the Travel thread when I get a chance.
Definitely make it up north next time. San Sebastian, Bilbao, Pamplona and the northern coast are absolutely stunning.
This kid is the real deal. It’s like getting Mbappé before he has a chance to go to a different club and mess with your emotions window after window.
it finally comes on and it’s a guy who can’t pronounce Modric or Tchouameni, or maintain a stream of commentary I get it’s a Copa match against a segunda club but like
