Kyrie is being fairly punished, his actions do not compare to Mitchell Miller who should never play in the NHL at all, voting for Donald Trump because you want lower taxes still makes you a complicit in supporting his racism since there is always the option to not vote. Same with Desantis and his anti-gay and anti-trans policies. It shows that those are not lines that someone cannot cross for you.
Irving is being accused of being antisemitic not because of something he said but because of something he did. He tweeted a link to a antisemitic video and thus was accused of promoting antisemitism. Tell me why that is okay but saying you voted for people who do worse shouldn’t be mentioned why it’s not relevant. Conservatism right now is basically a manifestation of racial/ethnic grievances, contempt for the freedom of women and the freedom of men/women to have relationships with whoever they want or to choose what they want to be. Saying you’re a conservative in today’s environment is saying that you are, at best, implicit in the mistreatment of others and, at worst, active in the discrimination and subjugation of them. If you were serious about being appalled by the mistreatment of these people but still “conservative” you’d be a moderate Democrat. But if you vote Republican in 2022 you’re a shithead, plain and simple. Edit: so you’re not voting for them but you aren’t doing anything to combat them. Most of what I wrote still stands.
