What a fucking moron... You run 1 screen, and do it when they rush 3. There are a ton of ways to stop a team that is blitzing every play, but drop back deep routes every down and running up the middle ain't it
Gus and mismanagement of QB's is gonna be an every year thing unless you find some elite athlete like Cam or Nick Marshall.
What a terrible idea if you want him to redshirt. I don’t really care about redshirts in the age of transfers so play the man.
remember when we never lost home games w a packed stadium? Gus has lost 2 , almost lost to USF last year at Home
For some reason I’m far less angry than after the Louisville and ECU losses. If we make the champ game, we’re 100% losing
Would love to know what happened to Keene, he was brilliant on that first drive and then looked like he'd never touched a football the rest of the game.
Not to go Alex Jones but playcalling seemed to set Him up for failure . I said this during the Memphis game when he hit several 3rd and Longs anyway
Playcalling and pass blocking He was not set up for success at all. also personnel. Kobe and RJ needed way more
It’s so obvious Keene and Hudson have a thing going but Kobe wasn’t ever on the field really once Keene was in.
I know we wanted Mikey to pass but they abandoned the run almost completely for several drives there.
A Houston loss would help, but I think a 3 loss UCF ranks better than a 4 loss Houston, and we were ranked higher in the CFP, so I think we get in over them. Cincy has todays game well in hand, so the winner of Tulane/Cincy will host, the loser has a tie with us, and we break both of those. So IF we can beat USF we are going to play the CCG at either Tulane or Cincy.
Although, Houston is playing ECU strong, so they might rank over us if they win out, even with 4 losses. A Navy loss is BAD and a USF win is not great
Looks like we’re not the only ranked team to shit the bed against an unranked team today #24 NC State lost #13 UNC lost #23 Okie State losing #14 Ole Miss losing #5 Tennessee losing
So here’s a dumb question. What CFP rankings are it based on? Would they really wait until the final regular season ones to determine who is in the CCG or would they base it on this week’s for logistics purposes?
Typical Heupel loss against an inferior opponent Their defense has been ass too. Allowed a 3rd and 20 conversion somehow
I’m thinking Houston goes to the CCG ahead of us because with 3 teams tied at 6-2 it might be based on computer rankings. Ours must suck now.
If neither of the tied teams ranked in the latest CFP Rankings win, a composite average of selected computer rankings are used to determine participants. I have to imagine us with 3 losses and them with 4, and we have wins over ranked tulane and cincy. That we are ahead of them
The only argument I could see really fucking us is if we say 3 way tie so head to head doesn't matter and cincy/tulane is ranked higher, giving a Cincy tulane rematch
I think it’s this rule but same thing as far as computer rankings. 5.2.If the highest-ranked of the tied teams in the latest available CFP Selection Committee rankings loses in the final weekend of regular season Conference play (Tulane/Cincy loser) then a composite average of selected computer rankings (Anderson & Hester, Billingsley, Colley and Wolfe) will be used to determine the Championship Game participants;
I know every coach has his weaknesses, but Gus’ stubbornness with personnel and play-calling pisses me off so much. I dislike him more than any UCF HC in recent history because of those qualities.
He would hire a new OC at AU let them start the game plan and then railroad it midweek to do what he wanted to do. Lashlee and Dillingham were both the fall guys at AU and then go on to have success the minute they leave. If Gus would just focus on recruiting and get out of the way of the O like he does the D he would win 10 games a year.
He just seems so reactionary. Playcalling always feels like it reacts to the previous play such as throwing screens the plays AFTER the successful blitz. Bowser continuing to be the feature back feels reactionary to the line losing a down. QB mismanagement. just so frustrating knowing the better options are just sitting right there.
If the tie is ucf Houston tulane, head to head takes place Ucf>Tulane>Houston tie is broken on head to head Not sure if Cincy loses how it works. But I would guess head to head eliminates Cincy from the 3 way tie and then houston/ucf goes into the rankings tie breaker
