I don't know or care about your politics & you certainly don't know mine. I just don't like you. Just block me, or ignore, and I'll do so in kind
Anyways, no I don't trust holding, and I think an Addition of another CB would be good along with an attacker and MF
Listen chud I don't give a fuck what you think. Shut your fucking mouth and Keep it moving, go put on ur England gear despite being american you loser.
I felt a twinge of remorse for calling you insufferable, as you're easily unhinged... But the shoe fits. Just ignore me, as promised. I'll revert back to ignoring you for the greater good.
Imagine holding a grudge because you’re angry someone insulted your bitch ass loser hero’s like trump. I couldn’t imagine being that fucking pathetic. You call me unhinged but can’t even be a man and say the shit you believe in. You fucking pussy. Truly pathetic waste of oxygen. Your mother should’ve swallowed you
I hold no grudge. I accept you. I just don't like you as a person, or handle, in the case of this message board.
Probably the worst passage of posting on TSB history, do your bullshit in main forum. We talk about soccer here and that’s it
Not sure if anyone brought this up or if I did and forgot but our start to the season was 6 home games and 8 road games City had the opposite but not like it matters when they go on a 15 game win streak
Probably more important that City have only played United at home and LFC/Newcastle away of the top/big clubs
We’ve had pretty easy run too No Newcastle/City and Spurs/Pool at home. Chelsea away is our highlight
I'm fine with €65M for him, but afraid that €100M won't leave enough to acquire the 5th string CB with which our title hopes lie
He's been an anomaly & pretty unlucky to not have scored the last few matches. He's been in the right space & striking the ball well.
So FBRef has him at 8.8 xG all competitions and 7.7 xG in the league (all npxg as a note). Of the 2 league games we dropped points in MU was an xG of 0.1 and Southampton was a 0.3. So if you wanted to be hypercritical you could maybe claim his xG underperformance cost us 2 points so far. Over the past 6 EPL seasons (where xG is available), his average G-xG is -1.75 and at worst is -3.5. (Currently at -2.7). Over the previous 3 seasons the top 10 npxG EPL players averaged -0.65, -1.7, and -0.14 G-npxG. Best and worst for those seasons were 7.4/-3.4, 2.1/-5.8, and 6.3/-5. So while he’s currently worse than his average it’s really cost us 0 points so far, historically he could maybe underperform by another goal but typically the top npxG performers are closer to -1 on average and given he’s in the 96th percentile for shot creating actions this season more goals (or assists) are sure to follow. Bored at work rant over.
Don’t get me wrong, I think Jesus has been phenomenal for us, but not finishing chances in games that we still win can take a toll, particularly in seeing games out and who can pick up some rest
I get the philosophy behind xG and I appreciate the information, but I feel like I can go to five different sites and every number is going to be different. when the margins are so small, the variance really removes the usefulness of the stat for me.
Having another conversation about this outside of TSB. It's a really dumb number short term, however over the long term it's definitely valuable. For example, XG during our 22 game unbeaten run under Unai showed it was a mirage. Compare that to our last 22 matches with Mikel and it's night and day. I still lean more towards your thinking though. You do not need an advanced math degree to see if a team is playing attractive football.
In this case, his stats just largely confirm what we’ve watched. Missed a couple he should have scored but he’s creating a shit ton of chances every game. The volume of chance creation not his goal performance vs xG is why we are where we are.
Right and in isolation those two games referenced above where we dropped, others need to step up when he is a defensive target. And they have, with the exception of those two matches. You could even say they have for United if not for that one bullshit penalty to pull one back from Martinelli. I can't really recall the Southampton match.
If a guy is historically underperforming his xG, eventually that tells you that he isn’t a great finisher (or worse). I don’t need xG-G/90 to tell me that Sterling is a poor finisher but it confirms what your eyes are seeing
I should clarify that my issue with xG is less about what is above with Jesus and more about fans acting like it's almost as important as the actual score after a match.
Jesus also has 5 assists so he’s been involved in 10 goals in 14 league matches and he’s been involved a great deal. Not really concerned.
He’s clearly sacrificing himself for the benefit of others. As long as we keep the faith he’s bound to convert more, maybe on the business end of a cross….
Yeah, it’s not like if Auba had -5xG. He’d be completely worthless and a drain on the squad. Jesus is certainly not.
Saliba not starting. Happy about that, he wasn’t a huge concern but don’t need him to shine there if we can avoid it.
Feel like I saw something on women’s knees and soccer and how much more likely they are to be injured
