the dude that is the biggest supporter of the LPGA should never have that though. Call him over emotional all you want, but it is a terrible look for the LPGA
Sure, it’s great that he’s thrown so much more money their way. Michelle Wie West referred to it all as one big misunderstanding on the NLU recap pod which also seems to be discounting whatever actually happened. Clearly the Tour messed up somewhere, but a simple dinner mixup doesn’t grant the guy permission to publicly throw a fit and completely shit on the organization that he’s worked so closely with for so long
She had no clue on any details. Misunderstandings should never happen with your biggest supporter in any business. All I'm saying is I wouldnt advise pissing someone like him off. Call him whatever you want, but unless you have someone else lined up to throw that kind of money into your tour, I would tread very lightly. This is nothing new in any business.
he’s like the over-entitled college booster. No one likes them or really wants to deal with them, but then they remember the size of the check
Shotgun Start's take was that it's probably more than just the one dinner that set him off. All of this is also filtered through Nichols so if it was just a rich old man being a buffoon and not indicative of deeper issues I feel like that would have come through in her reporting.
As stated previously, you don’t allow a “big misunderstanding” to happen that publicly humiliates the guy that funds your organization. Do I think he sounds a bit childish? Sure. But in his shoes, he’s probably sending a warning instead of flat out cutting his funding. That’s actually the better of two evils, and the LPGA should feel fortunate that was the decision he made.
Wie's comments about this making the media is a bit of a head scratcher. She was somewhat dismissive of the story. I'll bet that there is much more to this story. I wonder if there is friction between the players and the CME guy?
That long of a chute is gonna make it tricky to move the ball much, I would think. …but then I’m a 12, not a +infinity pro.
I’ve got FJs, Ecco, and True. The True’s are super comfortable but I feel like I slip in them too much. Can’t ever go wrong with FJs. In the end, my spikeless Eccos are usually my go-to if the conditions aren’t too wet.
My only issue with my BOA is that it seems to pop loose randomly and also I’m afraid to overtighten it and break it.
The Nike infinity tour next is the most comfortable golf shoe I've ever worn.. I've got footjoy/Adidas/true. Infinity tours are next level.
I would give the infinity tours a try if they offered a spikeless version. Although every Nike golf shoe I’ve had was way down the list for comfort and functionality.
I don’t have any, but the best golfer I know swears by g/fore golf shoes and says he will never buy any other shoe.
Interesting, didn’t realize that. He’s definitely not the pxg type. Just plays a shitload of golf and swears the g/fores are insanely comfortable.
They aren't a traditional spike. Think the Infinity tour pro is the spikeless. I switched from spikelessa while ago but the Adidas spikeless are all very comfortable. My buddy has some that are basically ultraboosts. I just ordered some code chaos because they were 30 bucks on Amazon.
https://us.ecco.com/ecco-mens-golf-...dwvar_102904_color=57370&dwvar_102904_size=45 I like these a lot. 30% off too for Black Friday
Got a pair of GFore in a swag bag & they are fantastic. I also love my Peter Millar swag so I might be part of the “type” even though I own no pxg
I feel like GFore has a certain stigma because their primary spokesperson when they came on the scene was Bubba. At least that's what I associate them with. Same sort of deal with Sqairz shoes. I actually don't mind the look of them but I'd never buy them because of Faldo however dumb that may be.
Squairz looked like they were marketed to the same people as the gimmick chipper that was a combined putter/wedge concept.
I'm in an extensive argument with a group planning a trip to Pinehurst where half of us want to make room to play the Cradle and another faction doesn't want to give up the second half of a 36 day to play a par 3 course.
Is it mandatory everyone do the same thing? Cause if so, OUT. If not, everyone play where they fucking want to play.
A shoe shaped like a big ass square? Maybe it is legit but the marketing made it look more like a gimmick
The Cradle is pretty meh. It only takes about 45 mins to play though. The Cradle is such a minor piece to Pinehurst. If you miss it, your trip will still be complete.
I can get this opinion but it was incredible for us. We played it the afternoon/evening after playing #2, so it was great to drink, relax, and gamble after grinding on 2. We played 36 the other days while there, but that evening was the most fun we had on the trip
