It was the Easter eggs in the shop. Looks like they deleted it? Maybe it was spoiling stuff for people?
Can't wait to binge watch the whole thing over again. By far the best Star Wars product in recent years.
It’s a goddamn work of art. Like, holy shit. What a masterpiece. B2EMO>>>>>>>>>>> “you always say that” “And you always come through”
I still think releasing the first three together was necessary, because yes the first enriches the others; On it’s own the first episode would not have hooked as many people and they may not have watched if they had to wait a week.
Convinced the wife to give it a go, and I'm using it as a rewatch. Episode 6 is great. The visuals during The Eye are so good.
Anything Star Wars is a hard no for her. She likes Marvel movies, but the only Marvel show she's watched was probably my least favorite one (Falcon & WS). But it's annoying when she won't give shows I know she would like a shot. Cobra Kai and Wednesday come to mind.
I'm thankful that my first show rec my lady got obsessed with (Vikings) which bought me a lot of street cred on show recs. Followed that up with Dark to really give the full-court press and went 2/2. She's agreed to give the star wars universe a shot but I'm going to have to curate a special blend of shows and movies. I may skip Episodes 1-3 altogether and just give her Andor > Rogue > Eps 4-6 and see if she's invested enough to actually attempt Eps 7-9
FINALLY got around to this and binged over the last 3 days. I knew I’d love it seeing as how Rouge One is right up there with Empire for me, but it blew my high expectations out of the water. Outstanding show and characters. A++ The Eye was legit one of my favorite episodes of any show, ever. And Bix, don’t get me started.
Random observation, but is there a reason why this show is so heavy on the British pronunciations? Seems like they jam a UK “schedule” or a “left-tenant” in there about every episode and just wondered if there was a reason why
that’s where it was filmed. I assume a lot of the actors were local and spoke in their natural accents.
In universe, people from the imperial core (or republic core in the prequels) spoke with high class British accents. People from the outer rim sound American
binged this over the last 2-3 days. really liked it. for the most part, i think i liked the first half of the show more than the second half. i thought andor was in prison a bit too long and enjoyed the original introduction + heist + escape a bit more; i didn't find that stuff slow at all but instead well-structured. this show reminds me of The Bureau, an awesome French spy show. i have two complaints following the finale: 1. this is minor, but andor gives thorough instructions for how to fly off the planet and... the ship just takes off and heads out through the sky. what happened to staying low and then climbing at the lake or w/e? i thought those were instructions for getting off the planet and not for space/the landing moon... 2. the bigger one, i really hated the very last scene on the ship. cass comes back to rescue bix heroically after the big heroic heist and is then, like, "okay I'm ready to die?" despite zero awareness of any sort of effort by luthen to find and kill cass before? i didnt get the impression that he was tired of running and evading to that point. just earlier, he was talking with his prison buddy about being the flag-carrier for what happened at the prison. i would have much preferred a scene where cass gets the jump on luthen and luthen's enhanced ship disables cass, giving luthen the upper hand. who spares cass after realizing that he's too valuable to be killed off (and that luthen himself can't afford to be riskless every time). one other minor complaint i didn't see mentioned: the heist scene was awesome but i was let down by the gigantic locker of credits/money. they described the heist as a huge win over the empire with taking all of the credits for the system. but the sheer size of that vault really drove home (and to my mind the detriment) how irrelevant the theft was. would've been better IMO if they steal 90%+ of whatever is in the vault, not like 10%. but besides those things --- really good show!
1) those were the instructions until the eye opened. 2) he killed a member of Luthen’s team and abandoned Vel. He also saw Luthen and knows the Empire is after any leads on the raid based on Bix and what his friends told him. Of course he would know that Luthen would be after him. 3) the point of the size of the vault is to illustrate the vast disparity between the Rebels, who can’t afford to eat, and the Empire, which has unlimited resources. Kind of like the point of the prison episodes isn’t just showing Cassian’s radicalization, but to drive home that to the Empire, humans are just fleshy cogs in a machine built only to produce cogs for bigger machines. That’s also the vault for an entire sector and IIRC they were behind schedule in getting there.
The United States pretty much misplaced $12 billion dollars in Iraq. That’s a drop in the bucket for the US military budget, but even a tiny fraction of that would fund and insurgency for years. The same thing happened in Afghanistan. Same thing in Colombia. This show isn’t exactly drawing from empty air.
feel like this was pretty easily one of the best shows of recent memory and maybe even further back insane this got made
Had been trying to watch this with the kids but our schedules have made it hard to get both kids with nothing going on. Finally decided, fuck it, I'm watching it. This show is amazing. It's like long form Rogue One. So gritty and "real". Certainly not fast-paced, but it's not supposed to be and doesn't need to be. So well written.
I'm on only in episode 5 and this is the best of the TV shows by a good bit IMO. I like The Mandalorian but the production on this blows it away.
