Thoros is going to tell me I’m late but who I consider the authority on nd high level changes, prister confirmed nd is making changes to compete in the portal and to expand the recruiting office. All good news
I like to make fun of prister but I think that if you put him up against any other beat writers around the country he would compare very favorably.
he’s a pro, honestly I bet he’d be great to share a bucket of beers with but he stays in his lane after all this is his lively hood
Well that’s nice from Loy on departures. However, we have not heard a name that is completely off the wall and shocking regarding a potential departure.
So... We need to at least put together a NIL package for Mayer that pays more than the 30th pick in the draft. At least make him think about it with a number that is doable by Quinn
I could agree with that but just a few months ago you had him as your 4th or 5th te for thé draft behind Washington, and like 3 guys who caught 10 passes between the 3 of them. how can you explain that level of stupidity?
Elite athletes with high upside over low upside average athletes. I don’t want to derail this thread. Catch me in the draft thread. Meyer is a great college player. I think to this point he’s not a great athlete and thus more of a 2nd round talent.
Mayer is different in that he welcomes contact because he can out muscle people. He doesn't win with speed. That might be tough to make work in the NFL. I wouldn't fault anyone for not wanting that out of a first round pick. Generally early TE picks haven't worked out well either. Bankz just seems out on TE's early, which generally I don't disagree with. How many first round te picks recently end with the team satisfied with the pick?
no. His evals suck. his te list from earlier this year is laughable. Ask him how spot on he was about sauce gardner lmbo
This makes so much sense it’s scary. His hometown, they need a QB and shared experiences about ND and whatnot.
I think we should take him. Promise him he will start and apologize for mistreating him the first time around. then just leave his ass on the bench all year. Don’t even let him dress for home games.
If Freeman can simultaneously walk the line of being the coach that all the players love and the coach that cuts underclassmen without remorse, then roster management is not going to be a problem going forward.
Listening to coach d. There is going to be a LOT of here is a medical you can take that or transfer and kids who graduated being straight shown the door. If it’s like that I’m fine
A year ago, I would have been upset. But free transfers and NIL (both of which the players deserve) have evened things out, and I'm less defensive of players.
Good. I hope there is a way to keep those that want to stay in school, but we've collectively decided that college football is no longer an amateur sport, and cuts are part of the deal.
As long as it’s cuts with a degree or an opportunity to earn a degree. They start recruiting over freshman and just showing them the door I will lose interest
Probably injury concern. I don't think he was ever going to be ready by spring. They'd probably want a transfer QB to be able to participate in spring ball.
eh, tough shit. The kid gloves came off when the players convinced the rest of the country that they deserved to get paid. They did deserve it, but it cuts both ways. Dead weight gets cast aside. All that said, I would be pretty surprised if ND does not honor their academic scholarship for 4 years.
