It’s terrible and I am pretty sure Seider is now playing hurt, making it worse. But Hronek is playing insane right now so they can’t move Maata to play with Seider, which would be ideal. Whatever though, somehow every other move Yzerman made (Husso, Perron, Kubalik, Maata) are playing insane. But I am triggered the 22 minutes a night Chiarot is on the ice.
watching EW slowly shrink into a corn cob about Tage Thompson is how I am entertaining myself during this in-between Sabres season.
I don’t understand this buffalo team, sometimes they look like world beaters and then you look at their record and it’s not impressive at all. also 6 goals on 19 shots, that’s beer league numbers, and it seems like we see those a lot this year.
Their offense is awesome. They have one good defensive pair. And no good goalies. their goal differential is sick tho
They have been acknowledging his turnaround for a while now. Not sure they deserve to be dunked on for a take everyone outside of the biggest sabres homers agreed with.
I’m sure internal analytics systems that teams use with much better “hockey-based” logic and rulesets applied have some level of value. But the public models aren’t smart enough currently.
I’ve been lucky enough to become friends with a few people who have access to the internal metrics. They are certainly more detailed, but overall there is a ton of overlap in opinion between the private and public data. It’s very rare the private data would drastically disagree with Tage’s previous public numbers. either way. Tage was a guy being written off by both the analytic and traditional scouting community. His turnaround has been amazing to watch.
McDavid is shooting 22.6% right now, so that’s not sustainable based on his career (15.5) but I feel like 50/50 is on the table and that’s nuts. He’s currently at 24 goals in 27 games. I really hope he finds a way to get there.
What do you do with Puljujarvi if you're Edmonton right now? Started out the year playing with McDavid and still somehow couldn't produce. 1 goal in 27 games.
Seems like his defensive impacts are still solid, but he’s clearly not going to ever provide consistent top nine offensive production. His contract isn’t horrible but it probably makes sense to see if you can move him for a late round pick so you can save some money.
My Blues need a goalie. It appears they have a solid young tandem in Springfield might be time to give one a shot.
i was watching that game yesterday and just before that Chabot also got his pocket picked easily behind the net by robertson, led to a great scoring chance also. I rarely get to watch Dallas, robertson is a damn good player.
Could you imagine if this happened in hockey? Also it’s crazy he didn’t get two yellows, one for the foul, one for the kick. The kick went completely unpunished.
I might have to see another replay but I’m pretty sure Miles Wood just took a shoulder to the face that led to him bleeding and the islanders got a PP out of it
His career empty net rate towards overall goals is very close to Gretzky's but still find it funny and know it's gonna trigger so many people
Terrible, selfish penalty. Lucky they got one point. Ruined all the momentum they got after tying it.
