Going through all the artists yall recommended. Didn’t listen to the lyrics hard on the one but I liked the vibe and melody on this one:
I dabbled in JID a little but yall have given me a lot of ground to cover. I will probably move through it at a glacial pace because I really like to listen to stuff over and over before moving on. Spent the most time on Earth Gang Ghetto Gods thus far and still haven’t listened to that whole album but I really like it. Great recommendations from yall though.
Patches tells no lies. My lane is more the relaxed and chilled out indie hip hop. I like all of it but if I could only have one that's what I'd go with. If you enjoyed Saba here's a list of rappers similar you should check out whenever you get the chance -Smino -Kota the Friend -Tobi Lou -Amine -Cordae -Buddy -Travis Thompson -Isaiah Rashad -Denzel Curry -Russ
Sippin on a couple of beers and jammin to some Artifacts in honor of Tame. didn’t realize until earlier this week they came together for an album this year. These two tracks are DOPE
man, I love Savage. generally not a Drake fan, but when he hit that 24s flow in Rich Flex, I felt something.
I've never been a 21 fan and it's never more apparent that his rhyme schemes are unoriginal and repetitive than when you put him on a track with someone as good as Nas. Every Metro track he's on would be better with a better MC. I won't be taking questions during these times.
JID Denzel Kenny Thought and Danger Mouse Lupe in that order LOADS of good shit this year though. Better rap year than 2020
Ok from yalls recommendations in the last month or two I've sampled through a bunch of stuff. Here are my notes: Stuff I like- I started a "new rap" spotify playlist and almost everything on it is from these 2. If there are others like them , let me know. Earthgang JID Stuff I wasn't crazy about Tobi Lou-too chill for me Kota the Friend-" " Kenny Mason-not overly dynamic. All his stuff kinda sounds the same. Not very melodic. Boldy James-no specific reason why, just not my jam Saba-too chill for me. Really like One way or Every N**** with a Budget. If there are more tracks like that let me know. Also like Come my Way. And Fearmonger. Danger Mouse-no specific reason why, just not my jam. I do like the track "Belize" but didn't dig the first 4 or 5 songs that appear on their Spotify. Vince Staples-something about his voice just doesn't do it for me-sounds kinda weak . MAGIC is a cool track. Undecided Joey Bada$$-haven't made my mind up. Still exploring. Show Me and Head High are cool. Smino-" " Conway the Machine-" " I like Piano Love Pusha T-" " Bramleton is a cool track Denzell Curry -" "
That’s a tough undecided list. Some of the best in the game right now. As an old hip-hop head, I’m a huge Stan for Denzel Curry. Kid is unbelievably talented. Zuu made me a believer. Joey has such an old school vibe to him, that 90s era rap flow. Conway is just grimy ass gutta coke flow rap, love it.
Conway is about the best example of depth and ability this side of Kendrick. His verse here is raw emotion spit through real life experience
