With the way Killian is playing, have to wonder if Cade even starts for this team whenever he comes back.

I wish the beat writers didn't suck so I could enjoy that Killian performance more and be happy for him. Because good for him. But they're so annoying and that sucks.

Is Killian good now? Because he's playing like he's good now, and I couldn't be more confused other than to be thankful we have someone like John Beilein on staff to help our youngsters improve their game. What a blessing and comfort for all Piston fans.

    Jam3s 3dwards on trade talk

    Nerlens Noel
League sources, who were granted anonymity so that they could speak freely, have told The Athletic that the Pistons are looking to move the veteran big man. Both sides have agreed that a deal is best for both parties, and Detroit has already had talks with rival teams about Noel. Portland, Sacramento, Miami and Dallas have been the teams most engaged when it comes to acquiring the 28-year-old.

Noel has played sparingly for the Pistons this season, averaging 1.8 points and 3.2 rebounds in just six games. He’s been a “break glass in case of emergency” option for head coach Dwane Casey. Detroit currently has three young frontcourt players – 21-year-old Isaiah Stewart, 23-year-old Marvin Bagley and rookie 19-year-old Jalen Duren – it is trying to develop, which leaves little room for Noel, once one of the league’s top interior defenders. Noel was acquired on draft night along with Alec Burks in a salary-dump deal with the New York Knicks.

    Bojan Bogdanović
The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported earlier this week that the bucket-getting veteran has been sought after in recent weeks by multiple NBA teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, who offered a future protected first-round pick. The Pistons don’t appear to be eager to move Bogdanović, who is in the midst of a career-scoring season and has added great leadership value to the young team. Of course, every player has a price, but with Detroit interested in turning a corner over the next year, the idea of keeping Bogdanović is appealing to the organization. Bogdanović signed a contract extension earlier this season, and it has always been my understanding that Detroit wanted to ink the veteran forward to a longer deal to keep him around, not to move him this season.

    Saddiq Bey
Per league sources, the Pistons have answered calls and had discussions about Bey, the third-year forward who has had an up-and-down season. The sense I’ve received when talking to people around the league is that the 23-year-old may be gettable at the right price, though the “right price” is unclear. Bey, who is shooting a career-low 29.9 percent from 3, was moved to a bench role last month as Casey sought a better scoring balance between his two units while trying to improve the starting group defensively. Bey has taken strides as an interior scorer this season and is even averaging a career-best 4.3 free-throw attempts per game, one of several small improvements from the Villanova product. But his 3-point-shooting woes to date have really clouded his overall progress in Year 3. Additionally, the Pistons’ desire to play with two natural big menhas impacted Bey, who is probably best suited as a power forward on the defensive end.

    Alec Burks
The 12-year veteran has been a massive help for the Pistons. Detroit probably has two or three fewer wins this season without the scoring guard, who is posting a career-best 58.8 true shooting percentage. Burks, 31, has a $10.5 million team option for next season, and with Detroit, again, looking to be competitive sooner rather than later, current signs point toward Burks staying put beyond the trade deadline. Much like with Bogdanović, every player has a price, but the odds of the Pistons getting someone who is as efficient and diverse a scorer as Burks for that salary number in the open market next season seems low. There’s probably more value to Detroit in not picking up Burks’ team option next summer as opposed to trading him at the deadline, in the scenario that something big comes down the pipeline and the organization wants to free up even more cap room.

Difficult to see the Noel situation ending any way other than him being bought out at some point (probably right after the deadline).

No idea if Jake Fisher is any good but it seems it squares with what 3dwards has been saying

Los Angeles’ primary trade efforts at this juncture have centered around a much smaller outgoing package of Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn and a protected future first, sources told Yahoo Sports. The Lakers approached Detroit with that proposal in hopes of prying away Bojan Bogdanovic. The pick in question, however, was heavily protected, sources said, and the Pistons seem keen to hold out for a more tangible draft asset to part with Bogdanovic. Should Beverley ultimately get moved to a rebuilding situation like the Pistons, the grizzled guard has a desire to return to Minnesota, sources said, should he reach free agency via buyout.

Elsewhere in Detroit, multiple rival teams told Yahoo Sports the Pistons’ asking price to part with third-year swingman Saddiq Bey is an unprotected first-round pick. Veteran reserve big man Nerlens Noel is widely expected to be moved ahead of February’s trade deadline, sources said, while Alec Burks, who arrived alongside Noel in a draft-night deal with New York, has drawn interest from inquiring teams as well.

That Lakers offer is trash. They can't deal a 1st round pick until 2027. If it's "heavily protected" there's no point in waiting that long for it.

He's at least bringing back a "heavily protected 1st" within the next 4 years from someone else. Especially since the rest of the deal is trash without anyone of consequence.

Is Killian going to average even half of what the guy we took him over is averaging this year? Will the beat writers still try to convince us he was a great pick even if he doesnt?

I just want Hayes to be a rotation piece at this point. He’s not going to be better than Haliburton and I haven’t seen anyone try to convince us of such.

I haven’t watched many games lately, but it feels like the team has completely tuned out Casey. Defensively there is basically zero effort tonight; besides the two bigs anyway.
