I've never disagreed with the first part. The "crypto bros" in here would tell you that it's 90% scams. Idk that they're mutually exclusive as much as it's just what comes along with emerging tech cycles. As we've moved through every "collapse" better tech emerges and we do it all over again. I also find it interesting that the last collapse has little to do w/ the actual tech and much more to do w/ business ethics and poor management. Which is exactly what Emmer was referring to in that video. I know he's the worst or whatever but I think there's a meme about that somewhere.
A potentially relevant data point influencing emmers viewpoint on crypto, as the nrcc chair since 2019 he's directly responsible raising money for the GOP to win control of the house each cycle. When courting big dollar donors, like the donations to Republicans that are under investigation from sbf, he would no doubt be involved directly or indirectly in those efforts. He's got a vested interest in maintaining avenues like crypto to effectively launder legitimate and illegitimate money fort political purposes
We still use QuickBooks 2008, will probably switch over to Wave after the new year because QB is getting a bit glitchy
I use qb online for bookkeeping. It’s supplemented by my ERP and I think it works quite well but i have to run 4 different books based on my structure and while I can share a log in, there’s no way to aggregate the info and it has a woeful lack of permissions control so we’ve been looking at switching I just can’t wrap my brain around dedicating that much time and energy to changing right now. Does wave work well with that?
Sorry, no idea. Previous bookkeeper for the company set up QB2008 in a weird format so none of the existing information is easily importable to a new version, so I'm looking to just start anew with Wave going forward in 2023 and use QB for existing projects until they finish. Pretty simple and straightforward, but still 200-250 projects/yr.
I think the % of the US economy that runs on Excel and Quickbooks would shock people, moving to ERP is a bitch and alot of orgs just try to make it work with duck tape and glue. QBO is a great product for the money

Harrison’s post (an embedded tweet) was incredibly relevant to the conversation Crypto doesn’t care about politics. He steers or ruins multiple conversations ITT. it’s cuter when the “no coiners” talk their shit in other threads. I don’t closely follow or waste my time labeling twitter users as chuds. I searched SBF bail and posted the tweets at top of the search to give Harrison more information and now it’s come to this
