Ohio hates that this airport is in Kentucky, part of the reason for the CMH push. Dayton and Cincy should’ve had a shared airport somewhere on I-75, could’ve been a monster.
Close Wright-Patt. Convert it to a commercial airport. Integrate the Air Force museum into the concourse. Best airport in the world!
$6B? That sounds massive. San Diego broke ground for their new terminal at the end of 2021. It won’t be complete until 2028. And we have no weather delays. The entire San Diego project is $3.4B. That includes new streets, elevated roadways, 30 new gates, new taxiway, new parking garage and administration building. Essentially a new airport.
I flew southwest with my girlfriend in November. She received four drink coupons in the mail a few weeks later. I realized it had been years since I received drink coupons (possibly never?). Accessed my southwest account online and noticed my preferences were set for no drink coupons. Assholes. TLDR: make sure you southwest account is set up to receive drink coupons
So what does southwest consider a reasonable meal? Walmart snack bar? Brb running to update my southwest account settings to get free coupons
Need to book a flight to Vegas soon. I usually do Southwest just because it’s the only direct flight from here and the free checked bags, etc. Maybe they’ll be offering discounted flights to get back in the good graces of America!
Southwest completely came off the rails during covid - delays, cutting flights, etc. I used to fly them almost exclusively as they make up like 50% of the flights out of KCI but at this point, I'm going to do whatever I can to avoid them if at all possible. Hopefully Delta or someone ups their flights in and out of KC once the new terminal is done. I will say - they were pretty good about letting me adjust flights when I was in Florida during this last hurricane. I saw that others, like AA were charging up to $1000 to move flights up a day to get out before the storm.
That’s why I pay the extra fee to make sure I can board the flight quicker and get front row seats to the pre-flight entertainment!
I almost exclusively flew southwest when I was in law school and my first few years after because it was significantly cheaper than everything else. Now it’s just as expensive with 0 of the amenities of other airlines. Like you’re not fooling anyone by having each leg of your flight be a separate cost bozos
Dallasdawg and all the other all things texas stans That company always cut corners on aircraft quality
delta is already our #2 and they’ll be adding flights after the new terminal goes in. I just switched to them for work after United pissed me off one too many times
this fucking cuck is acting like he's been on the fuck SWA train for years and years meanwhile he's just copying me of being a Delta Daddy it's sad
I've always been team southwest because love field is at least 1000 times easier to get through than dfw, but this is a terrible look
Please tell me these SW executives will get raked over the coals Hopefully by congress Someone needs to make these airline executives sweat. Cant believe airlines are still using those 1990 booking systems
Looooool, they might get a small fine with of a few million dollars and I'm sure management will blame their IT system and employees. No one really important is going to lose their head I bet.
I have a flight Thursday morning, I'm fucked right? Their flight status won't even let you look two days ahead and the same direct out tomorrow is already cancelled.
Hahahahahaha. Yeah man. Hold your breath and bet all your money on that happening This will definitely be the thing that finally gets the oligarchy Congress to punish a Big Business. Fucking hell. How do idiots still say things like this in 2022?
Yeah FlightAware says it's cancelled assume that is correct info. Bright side is this trip isn't a necessity so I might just bail.
This line of logic always cracks me up. It’s the most Texas thing ever to be “team” a shitty airline instead of acknowledging that your airport situation sucks.
Thats sadly what I expect, but even a fine is better than nothing. Not too many industries benefit more from government protection/ regulations I see the anger management classes arent working
Wat? I'm saying that I would fly swa by default solely due to dfw sucking ass, not that I'm currently wearing a southwest hat.
Your phrasing brought me back to all the Texans I argued with at the beginning of the thread (and the Best US Airports thread).
The CIO will most likely be forced to resign and they will bring in a new CIO that will clear house in IT Csuite will deflect blame and commit to increase $ spend for tech in future budgets
Imagine being such a baby brain dumbass, someone who is at least 30 and having witnessed all that your government has NOT done, and still thinking that the government will punish a big business.
I mean idgaf about airport amenities in the United States. My goal is to walk directly from my car, through security, and then to my seat on the plane. No desire to spend even a minute at any airport
I generally like popping open my computer and having a few overpriced beers at a shitty airport bar. But the past year+, security takes so fucking long it's a mad dash just to make it to your gate on time, no matter how early you arrive. US security lines/TSA/etc. are so goddamn inefficient compared to other countries it's insane. Leaving Nepal with a line outside the airport moved faster than arriving in Texas. I don't want to shit on professions, but do we have any fucking standards beyond a GDE for TSA agents?
I’m flying into phoenix this spring and everyone is fairly high. Southwest is astronomical. I can book first on AA for cash, nonstop for the price of SW connecting in Denver.
Phoenix and spring is always a disaster with snow birds, old ppl, spring training, and golf trips. Flights are always outrageous
Round trip flights to Cancun were booked through Southwest with a departure on January 4th. I’m not about to fuck around with this shit storm so we booked through American this morning. How long do I wait to cancel with Southwest in the hopes that they cancel our flight and give some type of voucher as an apology?
