One of my neighbor’s cat was killed by a car today. My daughters knew him and were heart broken. They went to go pick him up to try and find the owner but she (the owner) came out and started to cry with such emotion that it was heartbreaking. She is an older women probably in her 70s and cat seemed to be her only companion. The sorrow and guilt she expressed were hard to explain. She said she had him inside because of the rain and just let him out for a minute. Truly heartbreaking. Everyone was trying to console her but didn’t know what to do except take the kitty out the street so he wouldn’t get run over again. She wanted me to take pictures so I took them. They aren’t graphic just extremely sad.
Yeah people are assholes and while it doesn’t really matter I hope it’s just a tragic accident and not an asshole doing it on purpose. It’s mainly why our cats are all 100% indoors.
Gizmo's a Russian Blue kitty who is a purring machine! We were watching the cricket and he wanted to snuggle
Made this post 7 years ago. Sadly we had to put her down yesterday. She almost made it to 16. Sweet girl. Perfect pet.
Sorry man. I’m a huge sucker for black and white cats; lost mine of 17 years while I was abroad and it hit me right in the fucking feels.
My friend and his wife got a kitten. Their 5-year old cat doesn't like it He's not fighting the kitten but he's hissing a lot. Sorry brother, sometimes them's the breaks
The neighbors decided that they didn't want their rabbits anymore i guess. My dude has a tendency to kill everything in the yard but they are giant pet rabbits. He doesn't know what to do He's been talking a bunch of shit to them, and then they leave, and then they come back and we repeat
Anyone dealt with litter box aversion before? We had a family member die in July and flew with his cat home to live with us since giving away his best friend seemed not right. Generally been a great experience but about a week ago he stopped using his litter box. He now goes in the shower, which is better than the hard wood floors. We have 4 litter boxes set up with different litter and he just doesn’t seem to care. He got a full work up from the vet and no medical issues and they just keep saying give it time…
I think you do have to give it time, unfortunately. Just make sure you're keeping it clean, which I'm sure you are. Kudos to the cat for doing it in the shower, though. We accidentally locked one of the cats in the master bedroom once and he did the same thing. Another one of our cats got locked in the spare bedroom and we had to buy a new mattress.
Change the litter to one brand that you know he will use. For example if you have something that has crystals in it he won't use. Use clumping clay because it's the same as the dirt outside. Buy some feliway spray. Spray that near the litter trays
Dog thread readers will know I had to put mine down prematurely two weeks ago. Somewhat serendipitously, a climbing buddy of ours is going through a divorce and she’s allergic to her cat. It wasn’t much of an issue in the marital home but her new house is much smaller and it’s causing her to have to keep away from the cat, which is very touchy and cuddly. Anyway, she posts to Instagram asking if anyone is interested and we volunteered. Day two and the cat is cool as hell. Louise. 5 years old. Really vocal and friendly.
Here is my beautiful cat in all of her glory. Her name is “Lady Peanut Butter, First of Her Name, Last of Her Kind”
I can’t believe I hadn’t ventured over here. I bought a new condo right before COVID and literally picked her up the day I moved in. She had been driven up from Tennessee because apparently that area of Tennessee doesn’t have state funded shelters? I met them in a Home Depot parking lot downriver from Detroit—-went to the wrong Home Depot at first too. This city legit had 2 on the same street like 2 miles from one another. My camera roll is FILLED with her from like 7 months old until now and she’s just fucking stunning.
If I ever tried to put something on my cat she would murder my arms in real-time and then finish me off in my sleep.
At Burning Man, my entire camp made pictures of our animals superimposed on other pictures and had a gallery of all of them. When I came home I brought it and put it above her food bowl. Next step is to get spot lights that hang under the counter and shine on this bad boy
She looks like one of ours named Kanye. We have 3. A female Torties named Kanye, a male ginger named Zerro and a black huge Maine Coon named Godzilla.
I have a cat that I believe is partial Maine Coon. He went to the vet sometime this past fall and weighed in at 16.5 pounds.
