    got the powerblock 50-70lb extension for xmas. should be able to expand my accessory options with these. might be purchasing a belt squat arm for the tiny gym too idk, other part of my brain wants a hex bar.

    I’m pretty old but when did guys just start wearing weight belts for the entire duration of the time at the gym. I thought you were supposed to strap that thing up uncomfortably tight, do a really heavy compound lift (squats or deadlifts) then immediately take it off. Am I out of touch?

    That’s actually an old thing. Those old school guys wore those thinner leather ones like Cardillo for everything. Only thing I could see it useful is on back day to just leave it on the whole time. I only wore my lever Inzer one for the set of squats or deadlifts then took that thing off.

    Pioneer belt was an amazing purchase and a bargain 3x the price but I do hate wearing it. if it’s not off within 2 seconds after my lift then I’m probably dead

    Intrigued by the belt Brian Shaw’s company made that all the strongmen are using. Most use it as an underbelt but Mitch Hooper is pulling crazy shit as his primary.

    The cheap Velcro ones are a joke

    Anybody have any recs for a water row machine? Looking for something that can store easily but would also prefer to not spend a fortune

    Edit: or are magnetic better?

    Buy a concept or buy nothing, I need to use mine more but constant back soreness is a bitch. Pretty much all my cardio is on concept bike which is an incredible machine as well.

    I’ve been getting back cramps behind my shoulder blades in my mid back when benching lately and can’t figure it out. I have no problems during weighted chin ups later in the same workout, so it seems like it’s gotta be something about my bench setup rather than a lat problem or something. Anyone ever dealt with this?

    i get knots in that area after pressing, back work, and deadlifts. i do a bunch of mobility routines before lifts and band stuff which combined with some foam rolling keeps it pretty manageable.

    Does your gym have a hack squat? That’ll allow you to still get the focus on the quads without the propensity of injury to your back

    have been doing a few new things as i nurse some ouchies

    straddle lifts - i do them from a sumo stance and then hold for a few seconds at the top. i can conjugate that shit and do speed reps or use bands idk it really helps me for firing up glutes.

    single hand farmers walks and single hand holds - just really working the shit out of my core

    a single leg squat with a band hooked to my rack has been really nice too

    meadows row to landmine press - i superset almost everything outside of main lifts, and this is just so easy.

    First lower body session in 3 weeks
    1x 475+80 in band
    5 singles x 425+ same band, 6 total reps performed under 9 minutes
    3x3 365 RDLs because I didn’t feel like doing more than 3 reps of any weight

    Typically do a squat variation after deadlifts, I struggled with 1 plate SSB after this and gave up

    Oh how I missed these lower back feels

    Started working out again seriously around the first of December. Have put 10lbs on in the month (T1D, average weight before was 190lbs-200lbs, got as low as 145lbs before being diagnosed) now I am back over 170lbs.

    From a strength standpoint, everything is shit and I'm honestly weaker than I was in JH or HS, but god damn does it feel good again. From a physique standpoint, I'm borderline a greek god, but that's more of a joke as I am still smaller than my teenage years.

    What exercises do ya'll consider a staple when it comes to chest/back?

    I had forgotten about this but in my younger weight lifting days after using NO Xplod for a number of years, I switched to C4 and it gave me this horrible "ants-under-my-skin" feeling throughout my body. Never tried it again.

    randomly this morning I grabbed one of these as I drove to the airport for a long day. Thought I was breaking out in hives or something at first then remembered. Whatever ingredient this has that other preworkouts and energy drinks don't, my body hates.

    Continuing my series on people who annoy the shit out of me at the gym. Checking in behind dudes that wear weightbelts around like it’s holding up their pants it’s a 2 parter. dudes who wrap their hands to hit the heavy bag but then leave the hand wraps on to do the rest of their workout and guys who shadow box between sets. No one gives a shit about your 2-4 MMA record, you aren’t a tough guy, stop it.

    Niacin and cranberry juice.. don't think it worked, just diluted my sample. Synthetic pee does the job though.

    Simplest way would be make sure youre not insulin resistant then time high glycemic carbs around training while minimizing fat
