Will be in Boston in a few weeks and have plans to hit Trillium, Harpoon and the new downtown Sam Adams tap room. Any other recs? Unfortunately Treehouse looks too far out of the way to be an option.

publick house in Brookline for Belgian beers specifically and great beers in general. Row 34 in Seaport for a solid beer list with a good raw bar. A few cocktail places if that’s up your alley. Where are you planning to stay? I can recommend something accordingly.

Row 34 rules. Not beer related, but Neptune Oyster might be my favorite seafood joint in the world.

I went to Row 34 this summer and it was one of my favorite restaurants I've been to in a long time. Then again, I am 41 and live in suburbia so it isn't that big of a statement. I liked it more than the other dinner I had in Boston (Saltie Girl in Back Bay)

I did Trillium at for happy hour before going to Row 34 for dinner. Would recommend.

    Boston Suburbia?

Saltie Girl is strictly OK .. convenient if you're on Newbury street but better places around within a few blocks (Select Oyster for instance).

For me, the wait at Neptune is just not worth it anymore. I've only done it twice and i've been in the area for more than a decade. The chef/owner at Select Oyster in Backbay was the executive chef at Nepture for a while and I find the food there equally good, if not more contemporary/refined.

Nice, I’ll check it out next time I’m up there. Haven’t been since 2017 or so, but the fried clams there were as good as it gets. Cool spot of town too,

Nah, Chicago. Visited for a couple days in June. Stayed a couple blocks away and went there the night we got in.

Row 34 and Trillium are a 10 minute-ish walk from there. High Street Place is a foodhall by that hotel, and Kane's Donuts aren't too shabby across the hilton. Chickadee in Seaport's a great spot.
Yankee Lobster across Harpoon in case you want some seafood shack experience. I'd stop at Fort Point Market if you want to look for some beers to bring home (their inventory on the website is fairly current and they do get some good drops from Foam, etc.)

Lord Hobo has a new brewhall/restaurant not too far from Harpoon. Flour bakery for some good cookies & sandwiches is closeby as well.

I was feeling pretty drunk and it was a long 40 minute trip back to the hotel. Got a 20 minute nap in and now I'm headed back out. I have reservations at the Comedy Cellar for 11 pm but I'll need some coffee to make it at this point.

Mostly the IPAs and sours. I know they’re mainly known for the IPAs. I’ve wanted to get to the brewery when I’ve been in Minneapolis several times and it just never worked out for one reason or another.

A bit. The last couple of times I was there work insisted I stay at the Intercontinental at MSP where our meetings were and it was a real pain in the ass just to get to the area where Fulton and such are.

Minneapolis is a great city, both beer and otherwise, and need to make it back for another PSU-Gophers game. Went in 2013 and it was a great time despite the loss.

Anyone ever tried these? Do they know what they are talking about?

"Two out of hundreds of beers tasted in Wine Enthusiast’s 2022 blind tastings received a perfect score. Both of these 100-point beers were in the American India pale ale (IPA) category, and while the beers hail from different coasts and are uniquely their own, they surprisingly have a lot in common. We chatted with the brewers to reveal the similarities in history, process and ingredients that make up a 100-point IPA.

The two beers that received the elusive score are Power Tools from Industrial Arts Brewing Co. in Beacon, New York and Volatile Substance from Von Ebert Brewing in Portland, Oregon. But, what makes these brews so special?"

I've had power tools. Maybe from a technical perspective it could be something great but it's not even the best example of that style of IPA.

First time at Jester King in almost 4 years due to baby/toddler & covid. Place has really changed from the craziness of ~7-10 years ago but the quality beer is still there.

DDH West Coast DIPA, fantastic. Then onto ‘21 SPON Rye. I love this beer so much. And their food options are ridiculous.

Powert tools is an underrated beer from IA in this hazy world, their beer Wrench (also v good) outsells it 10/1, but it is very good. I’ve known the owner for over a decade he’s one of the best in the business and is super on point w his beers. Don’t think I would put it on top of the world though.
