I could see Monken dipping back into the NFL as an OC at some point but he’s already coaching NFL talent at UGA so whats the point unless he just wants another challenge
He doesn't really do much recruiting either, so it's damn near an NFL style gig. He seems happy here, but I wouldn't be shocked if he went back to the league at some point.
Man I still can't believe what this program has done over the last two years. I'm trying to imagine a conversation with my past self about this and just can't describe it. I'm trying to think back to that 2020 Florida game and just cherish almost everything that's happened since. To win like we did last year and then taking it a step further this year with a legit shot at three-peat.
I just wanted to see one NC in my lifetime. Winning two wasn’t even on my radar of possibilities let alone winning them back to back.
hard to find a good depth chart so will make my mock on my flight tonight but going to be fun to see who steps up
That pass catching group next year is going to be the best we've ever had even if we lose a couple guys to portal. Excited to see what QB can do and OL should be fine. Really appreciate what Van Pran has done over the last 2 years. Can't remember if he ever got injured but pretty sure he started all 30 games.
Don’t think that McClendon will go pro yet. He can make up a couple of rounds with a good senior season. He’s somewhere in the 4th to 6th round currently. Probably will get a nice NIL bump to stay as well. Don’t really have anyone that would step in at a tackle spot other than Mims.
Congrats broskis - back to back is really hard to do, 3-peat even harder….looking forward to some heavyweight matchups the next few years

I think Amarius Mims at Left and Earnest Greene at Right Tackle someone in our DB room that doesnt win a job is transferring, same with OL. Too many good players there. Kirby evals at those positions have been elite.
Our Edges of Mykell, Marvin, Jalon, and Damon Wilson. Shit maybe even Gabe Harris after he dominated at IMG.
Wonder if Rowe has Micah Morris leaving. Blaske was surprisingly pretty good at LT in garbage time this year. He can play anywhere too, I'd probably agree hes the C right now. Joenel is gonna end up starting imo
our hit rate on High School recruits is insane, esp when you factor in that we were hamstrung with covid in 2020. probably no one better in utilizing camps than Kirby
Also Shone played Walthour's spot this year in the one game he played and looked pretty fucking quick
Think he got some late in fall camp, but was getting more as a recruit. Our support staff guys were telling the mods he was as good as Kamari Wilson. Joenel is different tho imo. He's not as talented as Starks, but he's day 1 ready if he picks up the D. Since he's not enrolling early, he'll probably make a push mid season
Also something that shocked me was John Jefferson has some juice for a big dude late in the game last night. He's quick
I like that UGA still recruits at an elite level but the media doesn’t really talk about it like with Bama/OSU and you guys aren’t flashing it around like loser schools TAMU/Deion/Oregon And when you have elite prospects be misses you get the value from guys like Andrew Ladd McHonkey
I would never ruin a dynasty by putting my stink on it Sometimes you just have to admire greatness while you are present to it happening
To what you were saying earlier, this is why we're not super concerned with winning recruiting titles at this point. The five stars are awesome, but from last night's national championship game... Offensive MVP - Composite rank 2569 Defensive MVP - Composite rank 634 Top WR - Composite rank 1160 The level to which Kirby and staff identify and develop guys like that isn't being done anywhere else right now. So we just trust that, whenever we sign what seems like a random 3 star, he's probably going to be a big contributor by the time he leaves.
we already know this but the rewatch confirms MJJ is an offseason in S&C away from being a huge problem. Him, Mykel, Bear and Jalon Walker seem like clear front 7 hits in '22 class. Next years defense is going to be so much fun imo
Jalon Walker looked like a legit ass edge rusher. He was flying off the edge and has to be stronger than he looks because he has some violent hands
Warren made it seem like it was partially trolling there. Will be interesting to see what angle Kirby takes with next year's team since I don't see it working again. I just laugh at how triggered everyone is by it. Woah a coach manufactured motivation for his players? How ridiculous!
I think Kirby used the media overwhelmingly picking Bama to win the SEC in preseason as motivation. I can see the slight tbh and that's prob why it worked. I think the 6-6 stuff is joking though
SEC media days. After every segment of an opposing east team they would pick that team to upset UGA. They did it for South Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and Florida. So there was plenty of video to use as motivation and could be cut advantageously.
The real winners at Sofi Monday night were the plaintiffs attorneys. I saw no less than 20 people being taken out on stretchers after slipping on the wet indoor floors and busting their heads open. Was talking to my coworker on the TCU side, and he saw the same thing. People on the ground with blood coming out of their ears. That stadium isn't designed for rain. I'd bet there are at least 100 people still in the hospital today. Easily could be more.
