40K rules, the lore is completely bat shit insane. This guy's channel does a great job of laying out everything https://www.youtube.com/@Luetin09
I liked the video game version in the early 00s but the people that build and paint armies for tabletop wars are nerds of the highest, smelliest, order.
Really hope that Amazon puts the same amount of money/effort into the upcoming Warhammer and God of War projects as it did for Rings of Power. Both will be must-watches.
To be expected given how long it took to make and that they eventually just let it be a The Rock vanity project.
There’s plenty of people who bitch about everything MCU as well. Just because it’s not exactly WHAT you want, doesn’t mean it won’t be good.
TDK might be a better film but it's not a better Batman film. At least in my opinion. I liked Nolan's take as a real world version of Batman but I much prefer the more comic feel of the Batman. But it's all preference. TDK is definitely a more tightly woven film and story and Heath Ledger's Joker is iconic.
The film was about him being only devoted to vengeance. The riddler line about Batman not being his mask spoke to this. The journey of the character was finding hope. Realizing his love for the family he has left. Starting to care again about his family’s legacy. Bruce started to emerge. I think we see more humanity, more Bruce in the next film.
I loved the movie actually, my above critique is just what I thought kept it from being as good as even Batman Begins.
I liked that it was a different take on Bruce. To see him so consumed by vengeance that he's completely abandoned trying to have a normal life at all was an interesting twist. His character arc making him realize he needs to be more was great and leads me to believe he'll be trying to do a lot more as Bruce in the second film.
The Batman is terrible. Slow, too long, Cheesy dialogue, boring mystery with an awful riddle, and worst Bruce Wayne in all the movies. blows my mind how many people liked this movie
I thought it was fine, just nowhere near as good as some are saying. For me, not only is it not the best Batman movie, it's not even in my top 3 - I've recently rewatched BB and TDK (and Batman 1989) and they're miles more fun to watch.
I don't think there's another comic book hero with such a varied collection of good movies. Batman 66, Batman 89, Mask of the Phantasm, The Dark Knight, The Batman. All are great in their own ways, but all are totally unique
I think I'm one of the few that likes BB more - Bale, Freeman and Caine (and even Neeson) are just having so much fun in the first movie. I've said before that, every time it's on TV, I can just sit and watch it a while, whereas I find TDK more of a grind in parts, especially the last 30 mins.
Ledgers Joker is just so unbelievable then add his death to the mix and that’s why people hype TDK so much more, but BB is pretty close to as good imo.
As someone that adores the MCU it’s an absolute psycho take to not have TDK as the best comic book movie of all time
I still can't believe that WB executives gave it a standing ovation in a private showing. What the fuck were they thinking?
