Guy hits for average and that is it Sucks defensively, no speed, and has a solid injury history Not to mention we added in a solid prospect
With their payroll, stadium deal, and revenue sharing….dude is banking a ton Would be shocked if he sells
83. Luis Arraez 2B | Miami Marlins Any Marlins fan in attendance at the WBC quarterfinal in Miami might have gotten the wrong idea when Arraez mashed a pair of homers for Venezuela against the U.S. That's not the player they'll see for the most part now that he's joined the Fish. Instead they'll see a hitter with such elite bat control and contact ability that in his Minnesota days, one could compare him to Rod Carew without being scoffed at. Arraez won his first batting title last season, hitting .316 for the Twins in the AL. Miami, in case you're wondering, has had two batting champs: Hanley Ramirez and Dee Strange-Gordon. Arraez will be a strong candidate to join the list as long as he's in Miami.
Also, this stat on Sandy's writeup(number 11 in ESPN's top-100 players): "He throws 98 mph and that helps set up one of the most devastating pitches in baseball, his unhittable, nod-your-head-and-walk-back-to-the-bench changeup. Batters went 36-for-248 against it with 78 strikeouts and nary a home run." Our shit offense and him needing to throw 8 innings/game to ensure a W is the only thing keeping him from another Cy Young.
Is anyone excited for this season? Outside of Sandy, Jazz, Cabrera, and Luzardo, this team feels extremely meh and unexciting.
This is such a MEH lineup. Like how can they expect this lineup to do much if anything at all this year.
Idk who realistically thinks this team can make a run at anything. Easily bottom 5 in runs scored, if not outright worst in the league
It's honestly incredible to see the Twitter fanbase slowly realize how poorly this roster is constructed. Their marquee free agent splash was 35 year old Jean Segura. What the fuck did they expect was going to happen this year?
And there you have it, the only way this club will win games this year 10 runs in 6 games is big yikes
So I think we need to start talking about Luis Araez. Also. This team being 10 games above .500 is hilarious when you look at 3-9 in the lineup.
Kinda crazy how this deal made no sense at the time and is turning out to be just a complete waste of money Ng has made some decent moves (besides drafting) but this one was just pretty much setting like $10mil on fire.
Drafting high school arms so high always worries me, but we’ll see I guess Liked their other picks so far
speaking of the draft. All the new data says to not take HS pitchers in the 1st round because they are impossible to accurately project. What do the Marlins do? Take HS pitchers with their first two picks.
Here are the draft picks currently on the roster. Bryan Hoeing, 7th round 2019 Andrew Nardi, 7th round 2019 Nick Fortes. 4th round 2018 Braxton Garret 1st round 2016 End of fucking list But please, keep doing things differently than everyone else who are using current technology to evaluate players. Its comical how bad Jeter was at drafting. 1st round/comp round picks by Jeter and Ng 2018-Connor Scott. Minors 2019- JJ Bleday- Traded/Bust 2019-Cameron Misner- Traded/Bust 2020 Max Meyer- TJ Surgery 2021-Khalil Watson-Headcase but talented 2021-Joe Mack-MEH 2022- Jacob Berry. LMAO
Jesus that’s worse than I even thought All those high level picks, mlb.com would’ve had a higher hit rate
Marlins Twitter is so fucking dumb. They think the Marlins are going to make a big trade for someone like Ohtani or Arrenado. How the fuck are they this delusional.
