been watching some of the Good Good content for the first time the last few days, can't decide if I like them or hate them (except the one with the greasy long hair who yells all the time, he definitely sucks)
"It’s clear that Rob Collins and Tad King want to do new things, and they’re doing so at a time when the majority of golf outlets’ golf course coverage is about to focus on a lost Long Island course that was recreated in Wisconsin mostly by computers, as opposed to a contemporary architect’s original design." Doak is going to bitch slap Andy next time they are together
The five routings idea is very creative, but from a business and resort golfer perspective makes very little sense. Very few folks would actually book the “full day experience”, and the average traveling golfer isn’t going to want to play the course five different times (or not know which routing to expect on any given day). Again, super creative but also really not practical at all from a resort golfer itinerary logistics perspective. It’s why the original Sheep Ranch never became much of a monetization opportunity, and eventually turned into a regular 18 hole resort course.
Been a fan of good good for a while, but there has been some great content coming from Micah and Grant who recent left the group. I been enjoying Bob does Sports channel lately, Fat Perez has been a great addition. Here is their recent video with Keegan Bradley.
Micah said he felt they were growing apart, happened slowly. Also Micah is trying to pursue a real professional career, so there could have been a conflict in schedules potentially. He also said he had interest in growing his own channel and doing other collaborations with different youtube channels. For Grant, this one shocked me. He was the last guy added to the good good group of 6 and I think he got way less of a cut of the revenue share. It took a bit for his personality to shine through, but he became my favorite guy. Great golfer and his dad is like 50 year PGA instructor down in Florida. Grew up around the game and has an amazing swing. He also, wanted to do his own thing and his recent videos he and Micah have put out have been great. He also just signed a huge deal with TaylorMade, so he should have a lot more opportunities to make more money branching off the good good brand.
I wonder if LIV will start to make a play for some of the big social media golfers to be in their league
I could see it, both Micah and Grant could hang, but not sure they are at that super elite level. Youtube golfers are on the rise, and bringing a whole new flavor to the golf scene. Pros are starting to play more on these channels, gives them great exposure as well. Rickie recently being featured on Rick Shiels channel and Good Goods.
Grant and Micah just signed with TaylorMade. Good Good signed with Callaway. these deals have been in the works for a while.
What a page so far. LIV and Good Good. Let's throw in some conversations around Ian Poulter and Alan Shipnuck so we can have a whole bag of douches.
They invited several of the female instagram “influencers” to their pro-ams, I’d assume they will or already have. I believe NLU has said they were approached by Golf Saudi, although this was years ago before LIV
Saw that LIV is playing at Greenbrier this year. I can see Bubba and Phil telling LIV that Jim Justice would love to host an event.
Fat Perez played our club last summer and shot a personal record score. i think a 76. if that tells you how easy our course is.
It just seems like the well has gone dry when it comes to getting defections from the PGA Tour for now (relevant defections anyways) so going the influencer/YouTube route may be the next best way to get publicity. Because of the team format you could get away with having a lesser golfer involved, it doesn’t really matter if it’s Chase Koepka shooting 79 or Grant Horvat shooting 83 as your 4th man
Having a opinion on something is thread policing? Or...are you sad I broke up the Good Good love fest?
just saw the Bob Does Sports guys signed with Callaway too Fat Perez vs Jon Rahm, a clash for the ages
Finally broke down after my bag became hodge podge over the last decade and went to club champion. Was impressed with their operation. Let’s see if it turns into lower scores!
Ya, just saw thay too. I think these major companies are seeing the views, the followers and a new niche in golf. Very smart for future growth. Hopefully this deal doesn't water down their content. They like to curse, drink and do crazy shit in their videos. It is what makes them fun, hopefully Callaway doesn't strip that away from them.

I’m gonna do a full bag at CC sometime this year. Would be the first time in 20 years my golf bag won’t be decided based on what I get free/discounted. Can’t wait.
Kind of surprised they didn’t pair your tour v shafts with tour v wedges. That’s the set up I have and that club champion fit me into. But to be fair I have all of my wedge shafts the same length. Also I’m generally trying to knock stuff down, bump, playing for roll out so.
apparently he was served a subpoena on Christmas Eve in one of Reed’s lawsuits, so that’s part of it too
Need thoughts/opinions on what you’d do here Also should preface the guy who got hurt is not my favorite person so I’m probably letting that cloud my judgement. Played last month with 2 groups, I was in the first group. It was split 50/50 on people who were there to golf and people who were there to drink. On the 13th hole I see one of the staff members bringing a cart out to the group behind us since apparently their cart was going to die. We had a wait on the 14th tee and the group behind finished 13 and was coming up to us on the tee. First cart parks, 2nd cart comes flying from behind to the point I thought he was going too fast, slams into the cart in front of him while the guy was sitting in the cart. Driver of the 2nd cart was clearly drunk/high in my opinion but he says the brakes didn’t work at all, to prove his point he backs up and comes in hot again and slams into the first cart. After the round one of the staff members told them the carts haven’t been replaced or serviced in years because of covid. Guy that got hit is suing the club because of back injuries (I’ve seen him since and he didn’t say anything to me about his back and he also doesn’t work) and asked me to be a witness. Obviously if the brakes were shit that’s one thing but I also don’t think the driver was completely in the clear here.
Sue? Maybe not sue, but I’m probably asking to not pay greens fees for awhile. Like you said, if the brakes were shit, doesn’t really matter how hammered the driver was.
You state what you saw and what you heard. Nothing more, nothing less. Why would you want to get into an issue if you omit or bend the truth?
