Seems like oil refineries and weapons factories (including where the suicide drones are made) were hit based on unverified twitter postings
Really conflicting things out on it at the moment. Have seen reports of major strikes and activity to Iran shot them all down. Only consists thing seems to be that it was a drone strike/attack on various sites across Iran. Israel seems like the obvious actor here. wonder if they found ties between the recent terrorist attacks in Israel and Iran. could also be just bc Israel hates Iran I guess
Usa: Israel please help ukraine Israel: no we must not get involved Usa: Russia is using Iranian drones Israel: oh hell naw
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/after-u-s-reversal-germany-to-provide-ukraine-with-tanks This is a joke, right? When are they going to deliver them, April 20th?
Ukraine propaganda now openly talking about just sitting tight for the next 3-4 months and letting Russia exhaust itself again- this may force Putin to do another mobilization Looks like Russian artillery is collapsing, less and less shells fired every day
Seems smart? I’m just a moron who is fascinated by Russias miscalculation and the worlds response, but maybe hunkering down and letting russia exhaust it’s supplies while you wait on Abrams, Leopards and F-16s isn’t a terrible idea?
The gamble for the Ukrainians is the drag on their economy, mounting military / civilian deaths, and the chances that the Russians achieve a breakthrough somewhere on the line. One thing the Russians have is an almost limitless supply of men. "Quantity has a quality of its own" and such. Ask the Germans or French or Commonwealth when fighting the Russians or anyone who has had to fight the Chinese over the last 2 millennia. Plus, there's US politics. The minute there's a dip in the US economy, the Republican Party (most of their political figures at least partially sympathize with authoritarian Putin, if aren't outright funded by him) will look to hang the billions spent on arming Ukraine around Biden's neck like a lead anchor. Ukraine simply can't trust the US will be able to help beyond this year.
the Russian population is 141 million, nothing to sneeze at but equating them to China is not a good comp. The French and Germans weren’t defeated because Russia had too many bodies.
No, you're right, I was oversimplifying things. My larger point is Russia has a greater population and a totalitarian government quite content with shoveling men and material into these cauldron style attrition battles. Russia has a war industry and a means of generating income from selling oil (we all get that sanctions didn't exactly cripple Russia's war making capacity, right?), while the Ukrainians are solely dependent on western arms and aid.
Yeah maybe. What matters most right now though (for both sides) is replacing tanks, artillery, shells, small arms bullets, etc.
This Morning basically re: the iran drone attacks Israel: YEA WE DID IT AND WE'LL DO IT AGAIN HAHAHAHAHAH Iran: YOU DO THAT 2 OR 3 MORE TIMES AND YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET IT BUDDY
Are we about to pay the price for Israeli shenanigans Side note our deployments to Syria are confusing to me and somehow like 99% of people have no idea we have boots on the ground there. I think WhiskeyDelta was there at some point?
yea bro, the German government is coordinating with its European allies to make the numbers line up with purely American white nationalist slogans.
I have a friend who went in the Army as an enlisted guy just before 30, despite being a super bright, intelligent dude who had a background in counterintelligence. I always wonder if he wasn't aware of the fact that you can buy an off the shelf drone to literally take out your whole squad these days. Nuts.
Yup I was. it was a really small base when I was there but I check it out on satellite periodically and it looks a lot bigger now.
My buddy just got a gig flying deliveries for a company contracted to Walmart. Has to be a loss leader thing but times this a changing.
https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-co...kraine-for-one-dollar-with-caveat-11675203260 I have no idea how these would survive a month
Agree- this conflict does not seem like the most survivable environment for those also lol how does it cost $10,000,000 to ship two of those to Ukraine?
https://www.oryxspioenkop.com/2022/04/answering-call-heavy-weaponry-supplied.html starting to get ridiculous
Same thing you posted, but this guy is a great follow (and he screenshots things so you don't have to unroll a thread).
Have not seen this before- thanks for posting I could have sworn someone gave Ukraine some mig 29s but I guess not
Russian State News has really turned on Israel and Elon Musk this past week. Pretty ugly stuff being said
Iron dome is probably the only missile defense system where the cost of each interception starts to equal out on these cheap Iranian drones. I think I've read where each missile is about $50-60k. It is also a really good system for what it does.
