From 1920-1928, Cincinnati built a subway system. They got a little over three miles of tunnels and track completed, then ran out of money and the Depression hit, so they never completed it. It still exists, abandoned under the city. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cincinnati_Subway
Bill Maher may be my least favorite talking head on television. He's right there with Tucker Carlson for me.
They are a pretty good tag team for the extremist. You have Tucker being a blatant white supremacist. Maher under the guise of being the 'rational centrist' giving credence to the deranged societal criticism fomenting from the right in that thoughtful centrist way
I HATE KIDS and I SMOKE WEED always annoyed the fuck out of me even though I used to watch his show regularly. He’s always been a dickhead about certain things and has only devolved further.
If I were a rich right wing ghoul trying to manufacture consent for my awful ideas from people who claim to have an above room temperature IQ and want to seem above the fray I'd create Bill Maher out of whole cloth 100%.
He's obviously cringe on a lot of his takes, but whatever, so are a lot of people. The larger issue to me is he's not funny and isn't particularly effective at interviewing his guests.
Difficult to say, but the city periodically has to chase people out of the tunnels a lot. Cincinnati has a relatively new street level rail service, but it just runs a loop through downtown, the stadiums, and one gentrified residential district. Cincinnati currently is the only municipality in the country that owns its own rail line, The Cincinnati Southern Railway, which runs to Chattanooga. The city built it in 1880. In December 2022, the city reach a tentative deal to sell it for $1.6 billion, with proceeds to go toward city infrastructure projects. Hopefully, they extend the existing street level rail up to Cincinnati’s campus.
People think if you have left politics all you watch is CNN and you have to answer for everything Bill Maher says so imaginary me can't wait for this
It's honestly incredible when someone finds out my political beliefs then finds out I don't mainline cable news. Or watch cable news at all or know really any of their hosts. Don't know how to attack me if they can't attack someone else and completely avoid addressing the opinion itself. It's like they short circuit.
Really doesn't feel like we can handle another fox news in the ecosystem. Especially not one that many people think is left-leaning
In the year of our lord 2023, someone not directly employed by Rupert Murdoch cobbled together this lineup. Incredible.
When people discover I have an actual ideology and am not a sycophant that has to base my beliefs around individuals, they lose interest.
"Well what about ________ person who's the enemy du jour." "Uh, that guy sucks idgaf about him let's talk about the actual thing instead" **sputtering, not understanding not defending people who supposedly share you beliefs at all costs*** "Uhh, well what about _____- or blah blah Biden blah blah" K boomer
Most people chased out are looking for Instagram clicks. Cincinnati’s homeless problem is not solved by any means, but I do think the city genuinely tries solutions rather than chasing people away.
Progressives get media from a wide range of places. Conservatives have a lot of media outlets, but all of them watch Foxnews in some fashion for part of their media digestion.
I believe that every argument they are putting forward was already considered by the Supreme Court. So why ask for a reconsideration? Since the decision 3 and half weeks ago, the only woman on the court, who also wrote the 3-2 opinion, was forced to retire by age and was replaced by the legislature with a conservative white male.
