Nickelback was never really bad? Especially when you consider that a band much worse than them has become over saturated in Imagine Dragons after they faded away
Nickelback is bad, but no worse than 99% of the other late 90s/early 2000s hard rock bands. They also seem to have pretty decent senses of humor about themselves. It’s weird how they got singled out.
Yeah I think a lot of the hate is unwarranted considering a lot of other stuff out there. They're playing a venue close to my home. If someone offered me free ticket, ride and booze I'd probably go.
It's because of their popularity, they were your average form of suck but also everywhere magnifying the dislike
the nickelback-specific hate originated as a joke on comedy central a big part of their public hate imo is that "nickelback" is a fun word to say. the joke doesn't catch on if the band is named something else.
Can’t waste money on other bands when you need to keep adding to your Dave Matthew’s ticket stub wall
if you're taking me to live music with free booze I think I'm going with as the only hard exclusion, in part because of who I'd find at said venues
“Are we old enough to admit eating your own cum isn’t weird?” *Pumping myself up* “Ok Joe, we’ve prepared for this, but you have to wait at least 15 minutes for a response of this length to make logistical sense”
So if someone gave you a free ticket, a free ride, and booze you’d go? Wow didn’t realize you were such a big nickelback guy
Can’t even imagine how many Nickelback fans are antivaxxers. On the other hand, getting Covid and dying from a Nickelback concert would be a hilarious way to go out.
On the other hand, it's not weird that the most popular rock band of the 00's got singled out at all.
And hoobastank isn’t a fun word to say? To that posters point regarding Nickelback vs Hoobastank and Creed, Nickelback got more hate because they were relevant for a lot longer than those two other bands were. People hated hoobastank and Creed plenty. Just like we hate Nickelback. Bc they all suck.
give me a few twistys maybe a cookout tray or two and free transportation and i will have fun pretty much anywhere
There’s humor in thinking about how Nickelback will be remembered as the most popular rock band of Gen X
The Reason was such a great song to listen to in your 92 Cavalier outside Woodland Hills Mall after your girlfriend broke up with you in Aeropostale.
Morgan Wallen, Luke Bryan, Eric Church, etc. I'd probably skip on a number of pop acts, but if we're talking rock specific it'd be a pretty short list. Imagine Dragons, Matchbox 20 (I've always had an irrational hatred for Rob Thomas), a number of geriatric bands that had just a few hits.
