Impossible to say but those are the games (like Newcastle) that he makes a difference. Dropping in between lines to help link midfield and attack. Eddie’s been great but was pretty quiet today where a Jesus dropping back certainly improves us
i always wondered, given his inexperience, how he would cope with being the boss of a top of the table team. I know he certainly learned under Pep but my feeling is he’s just a natural born leader of alphas
Fully expect Spurs to lead at some point today before capitulating in their traditional fashion. gonna get teased and get nothing
Missed the game due to a bachelor party weekend in San Diego. Is it as bad as I think it was and should I bother watching it?
Well, if nothing else, at least yesterday’s shit performance didn’t cost Eddie any ground in the golden boot race
Hope that was a 1-off, have played decent plus in 17 out of 20 games for me. Leeds, Southampton, and Everton were absolute shit. United away we were naive and Newcastle H was going up against an incredibly athletic team sitting back. City home on the 15th gonna be nuts
It's going to be a slap on the wrist. Even if they get penalized, the lawyers will go to CAS and get it reversed. Nick Harris on Twitter has a good timeline on the allegations. Here's hoping that the dodgy shit finally catches up to them
I won’t give a fuck how we win the title if we do. Not like they haven’t earned a points deduction. That being said, nothing will come of this
I’ve noticed this too. Xhaka/Martinelli are the two most impacted by no Gabby Jesus. Those two combined with him so well
Martinelli has been on an island, no doubt. Xhaka seems to have solely shouldered the defensive burden caused by Zinni's free role. It's a testament to Gabriel & his positional awareness, that we haven't been abused down our left flank
Congrats on your assessment that we miss Jesus, I guess. We would have likely set up differently, but Xhaka having more freedom to move forward and/or Martinelli having Jesus to interchange positionally, doesn’t mean the rest of the team suddenly figures out how to counter the problems Everton caused… or that they suddenly put in 7-8/10 performances versus 5-6/10. The entire team was flat & lacked tempo… that can happen with our without him
That’s fair I just think his link up play is so much better and even when he wasn’t scoring goals which was much discussed he was so impactful. beat the bees
