If the rumors I see are true for the IC title at WrestleMania, then sign me up for that! Spoiler Gunter vs. McIntyre vs. Sheamus
That would be a good match but I really wanted to see Gunther - Lesnar Probably not gonna happen because Brock doesn’t want to get his chest torn to shreds. SOFT!
The sponsored Wyatt vs Knight match was god awful and fucking tacky. If that's what they're going to then no thanks.
I think what I had in the spoiler would be a higher quality match. I’m not convinced Lesnar would have agreed to do the job to Gunter, yet.
Genuinely looking forward to Vengeance Day tomorrow night. Breakker vs. Waller in a steel cage is going to bring down the house and I fully expect Grayson to be the new NXT champion at the end of the night.
Here’s some other free ideas for you Nicky Khan Great Khali vs. Braun Strowman in a DXL Men’s Big and Tall match - gimmick is the ring is 2x bigger and higher! Baron Corbin vs. JBL in a Warehouse match sponsored by Men's Wearhouse. Match takes place in a warehouse, winner has to rip off the three-piece suit of his opponent.
To be fair, it's in WWE's(Khan's) interest to act like they have as many suitors as possible, since they're the ones fielding the offers. If Comcast is out, you have to think it's either Fox or the Saudis.
I was coming to post the same. They’re going to job him out at EC, the crowd will turn on Cody and demand Sami in the main at Mania. If only there wasn’t a precedent already set for this……
I really think some fuckery happens at EC and leads to one of three options Sami legitimately having a reason for a rematch and instead of a triple threat they will split the titles again and Roman main events both nights. Or Jey swerves everyone and betrays Sami at EC and we get KO/Sami v Usos for tag titles and the story has been told so well I think a crowd would be into that tag match as a night 1 main event with Roman/Cody night two. Or 3 Solo and Jimmy help Roman to beat down Sami at EC and KO and Jey make the save and we have a massive main event one night of Jey/KO/Sami v Jimmy/Solo/Roman. Limits Roman so he is fresher going back to back nights. It's a huge payoff to the storyline and keeps Sami in main event without giving him title. Can also lead to spin off feuds post Mania, keep going Roman v Sami, potentially Jey v Roman again, Solo and KO, etc
Also lost in the Sami stuff is Jey deserves a Mania moment from this. He was the start of the whole Bloodline angle with Roman basically beating him into submission. He played a huge role in all the Sami storyline, and the crowd was chanting "We want Jey!" tonight showing he's over too. I almost think the 3 v 3 match may be the best match at Mania, let everyone be involved and this storyline has transcended the title. Leaves door open to continue it after Mania and let Cody take the title and have his own feuds
I don't think there's any way this DOESN'T happen. I'm sure this was always the plan for Sami, regardless of how popular he's become, with Cody taking on RR in singles at WM. But I'm probably wrong.
Yeah the KO-Zayn tag team was what I think they had ultimately planned for this the whole time along. Zayn turning on Roman made Jey realize that he doesn't have to be a prisoner to Roman anymore, which eventually leads to him leaving the Bloodline after they drop the belts to Sami and KO at Wrestlemania Anyways, KO stays off tv until Elimination Chamber to sell the beat down from Royal Rumble. Bloodline starts beating up Zayn after the match. KO makes his surprise return to make the save. The real best friends tag team is formed - not that garbage Chuck Taylor and Trent Berretta Best Friends tag team.
I can't believe that Triple H and co. have orchestrated a Daniel Bryan/Mania XXX story from the ground up only to make the same mistake that Vince avoided back in 2014. This is clearly Sami's year. Plans have to change (pal) to accommodate fan support that a guy hasn't had in WWE in almost a decade.
I don't think it's quite the same situation. All indications point to Sami being involved with the Bloodline for the foreseeable future while Vince kept trying to throw Bryan in meaingless feuds hoping his heat would fade away. There's room to tell both Sami and Cody's story here imo
seems premature to say plans have to change before Cody has even had any backlash whatsoever from the audience I realize the AEW stans want to see him fail but people said he was gonna get booed at the Rumble and they whiffed badly
as a non stan I don't want Cody to fail, I just have zero interest or trust that the story will strike any chord with me whereas wwe's finally been able to get through with this Sami/Bloodline stuff
No one cared about Cody his first stint with wwe, no one cared about Cody in AEW, people only care about Cody now because the wwe machine told them to. It’s amazing. Not Bankz though because he’s always liked Cody
Cody seems to be way over with kids. You see those little Codymaniacs dressed up likd him? Compared some 39 year old 350 lb smark throwing the weight belt back at him in AEW.
no one cared about Cody in AEW? He got big reactions the entire time he was there, that's like saying nobody cared about Cena
nearly all of AEW's current storylines are meh nothing stories but I wouldn't say people don't care about the wrestlers involved, the big stars still generate reactions and sell merch it's not like Cody was coming out to silence/indifference and doing awful quarter hour ratings like Jade Cargill matches
my recollection of Cody's time in aew was of him being pretty hot in the early days but at some point the crowd largely turned on him
This would be correct. We got tired of him being the same ole thing, and then he got that grotesque neck tattoo and it was over for him as a face. Then he decided to be stubborn and refuse to go heel.
Was talking to a buddy about this, but do we think that Jimmy not being able to go to Canada (legally) will be used as a “no show” for Roman at EC and add further to the split of the Bloodline?
different Takeover for me but the same deal, for one it was something I'd never even conceived of but I also couldn't believe how smoothly he pulled it off
