Looks like Booker T's Reality of Wrestling is one of those indies. Wonder if it's just going to be indies that WWE already has connections with?
Wonder if Dragon Lee debuts tonight? The timing would be about right for what I read his debut timeframe should be.
It all went left when he booked himself out of ever being in the running for the AEW championship. But prior to that he had the best storylines in AEW and had one of the best matches on every PPV.
The WWE fanbase seem to really like Cody. He got a big pop at Rumble and was very over Monday night. I guess my fear is from having PTSD from Vince having the book and knowing he wouldn’t be able to land the Sami storyline and transition off. But I think Sami, Heyman and Trips can… Because TK doesn’t give a fuck about the women and can’t book them in any type of interesting storyline. Britt got over from a in ring accident and promo work. He thought Jade going 99-0 is going to turn her into a mega star. He’s clueless. He hasn’t since he turned heel.
Mark my words. The crowd will turn on Cody before Mania if they don’t put Roman in duel programs with him and Sami. Sami chants will start drowning out the sanctimonious self aggrandizing Cody promos and they’ll have a mess on their hands at Mania. Cody is only over right now because he came from AEW and he fought with the torn pec. He’s a mid card guy with a main event last name. He left AEW because he felt slighted and refused to turn heel. The more stars they signed, the further he fell down the card. It’ll be interesting to see how he deals with the crowd turning on him, because history tells us he doesn’t handle it well. This is Sami’s year.
Will be interesting to see if the fanbase tires of of Cody's gimmick like they eventually did in AEW. Hell even I got tired of it and I've always been a Cody fan, at least in the ring. The Stardust gimmick was trifling but he tried to do his best with the shit he was handed. This Bloodline story never would have gotten to the point it is now if Vince hadn't quit.
Is the segment of the crowd that gets off on hijacking a show and trying to get themselves over still around? Maybe they were all on the Jericho cruise this week.
Oh they're still around, it's the "I swear I totally don't watch WWE, but I know all the details of the show" crowd the coping will be even harder when both nights are officially sold out.
They have to balance how much you put him out on a weekly three hour show. If you start throwing him out 3 or 4 segments before a main event I think your going to burn people out quickly. Vince was doing that prior to Cody getting injured. Will be interesting how they balance it with the new leadership. Also totally disagree with your bloodline take. The bloodline story goes back nearly three years now. That thing has been priority number 1 with Vince and Trips
it's actually stood out to me how different the wwe crowd comes across now, like they're just there to enjoy the ride instead of trying to take over nerds are still doing the fucking what though
And they want to fantasy book how it should play out because if doesn’t go how they see it then they fucked it all up.
Well yeah when the person is gone that's the cause of years and years of built-up existential dread of how something is going to be inevitably fucked up, that tends to make things more enjoyable.
I’ve largely checked out of NXT but will give it a go tonight. I hope where going to get some great in ring action tonight. Because HBKs NXT has been void of actual bangers
I don't have any confidence that Sami would have gotten to the point he is now if Vince was still running the show.
a lot of the neckbeard demo that would spend hundreds of dollars to go complain can now just save that money for a show they enjoy in AEW
Sami literally said this himself last weekend on Ariel’s podcast. That Vince and Heyman had no plans of putting Sami on camera with Roman. He was just around to set up what is likely still the conclusion of the story that being a tag match at mania against the USO’s. It was Trips call and they have run with it. That still doesn’t mean the bloodline story wouldn’t be amazing. The bloodline is more about Jay than it is about Sami. Jay is the one low key that’s made it what it is. Probably why you had that crowd chanting for him and you got the reaction when he left the ring at Rumble
Ha they've been around forever. Seriously there are type written letters to Meltzer from like 1982 about Vince killing the business. That creep Bixenspan called into Meltzer's dial up internet radio show as a teenager to shit on Wrestlemania 17 which is probably the highwater mark in the history of the business.
I thought the Halloween Havoc PLE was good for the most part , or at least it had two very good matches in that ladder match and the main event. I do remember the women's title match being particularly awful. Didn't watch the one back in December though. I wish they didn't have so many people from the main roster down in NXT now though, and outside of New Day, it feels like they largely just decided to dump off jobbers or guys they didn't want to invest in onto NXT like Apollo Crews, Dijak, Commander Azeez, Drew Gulak, Jinder Mahal, Scrypts, Veer Mahaan. Don't really like the idea of making NXT into a dumping ground of unwanted main roster talent. But I liked the black and gold NXT when Undisputed Era and the other indie elites were running the show. I'm probably not really in the target market for the current NXT product as they aren't generally known for regularly producing high quality in-ring action anymore.
And how is that union going at AEW? I remember the Bucks, Cody and TK all talking about unionizing, health care and a bunch of other bullshit they never followed up on.
Hager is a shop steward in the weed carriers union under the leadership of Brutus the Barber Beefcake.
Wrestling fans being tribal and calling other wrestling fans neckbeards is fucking hilarious. We’re all nerds.
Sure did. Did you not read my post? If they job Sami out at EC, they will turn on Cody for the Mania build.
IMO, the move at EC should’ve been a 3v3, with Sami and KO saying they have a partner vs Roman/Jimmy/Solo. Jey comes out to a huge pop, and nuclear heat when he turns on Sami/KO. Then you could go multiple directions with it towards Mania. The best being Sami/Roman, but the tag match would suffice. The biggest problem I see with Sami/Roman is it leaves KO/Solo/the Usos without great dance partners for Mania. Unless you do Sami/KO vs the Usos night one and Sami/Roman night two.
I did. It was stupid. It also made no reference to Sami jobbing out at EC, unless that was some stream of consciousness thought you added after the fact. There's a lot of room for both of these stories. It doesn't mean they'll stick the landing, but to act like the only avenue is Sami ending up with the title at Mania is short sighted.
I posted that earlier today, MY BAD. I don’t think Sami needs to win the title, he just needs to be in the match.
Nope, fuck off. One of the hottest matches ever was the 10 man in Chicago. A multi man match with that Montreal heat could easily main event.
EC is the splitting of Roman from Sami so Roman can focus on Cody. And it’s going to heat up the Uso’s vs KO/Sami at mania I think we end EC with a reunited bloodline and a rekindled friendship between KO and Sami.
You asked me to book it, I’ll tell you. You could almost recreate the Bash at the Beach match. He comes out halfway through, “but which side is he on?” And he turns on Sami/KO. Nuclear heat in Montreal. The crescendo shouldn’t be at Elimination Chamber. It’s been a legendary build. Sami/KO taking the tag titles off the Usos at Mania Night 1, Roman beating Sami Night 2 gives all of those guys the shine they deserve at Mania, but I’m not sure he needs to take the title off of him. I think Sami deserves to main event vs Roman, but the angle splintering off into the tag feud after Mania would be a nice jumping off point for Roman.
more fanfic babble how is Jimmy getting into Canada, Einstein? also why would people be wondering whose side Jimmy was on?
