I think DJ is arguably the most valuable of all of them and think they really took off when he came on board. I like most of their stuff and typically engage it in some form 1-2x per week during golf season and pretty regularly in the off season as well. Them getting bigger and more popular and ppl maybe not liking them as much comes with the territory I suppose.
it felt like he misread every putt that day and each time JT would correct him you could see it killing him for being wrong thought he'd eventually say Yes Sir, Mister Thomas.
The whole idea isn’t for you to like all of them. They just want you to have a strong feeling one way or another so you engage their content.
As it appears many feel the same way about this gentleman, the irony of the flag waving talk has not gone unnoticed.
I don't listen to NLU in the offseason or even during smaller tournaments, but for a major there isn't a better group to recap and preview each round. Adding KVV for those weeks is going to be awesome. Foreplay however sucks shit and I can't believe they have built such a large audience.
Foreplay content is absolutely god awful in almost every respect. I respect Riggs as a business person given his ability to commercialize everything he’s built. But the content itself absolutely stinks.
That would make negative sense considering their tour relationships, equipment deals, sponsorships, literally being in the video game as playable characters and a million other reasons. This weekend they have their own tournament branded merch on site, suggesting a business with all that going on with the tour to go LIV is one of the wildest things I've seen on this board.
same percentage of people that wanted him to and not comparing the two but prime tiger would never have done it either. It won’t be for everyone. I just hope more do
Gotta hand it to Barstool, they’re probably too racist to support LIV (unless they were cut in on the action or started hosting events at Trump courses).
Or they have the awareness they have a tremendous position with the pga. Not sure why y’all would think they would entertain LIV and fuck over their cash cow
“I don’t see any other sport where mid-round or mid-game you have somebody talking to the booth,” Rahm says. Don't they do that in baseball these days?
Yeah because that reasoning and exact, specific actions hasn't happened in professional golf recently. Ftr, I don't care about Foreplay. I don't watch/listen to anything they do. I just had to point out the incredible irony in your statement.
Found a weakness in my game after the last couple of rounds. If it’s cold or wet, I don’t play good. That simple. Give me good weather and I’m on my game. And of course it’s supposed to be rainy and cold for our Super Bowl scramble on Saturday. Only day in the past 2 weeks that rain is in the forecast.
This is how LIV, for as awful as the actual league itself is, has actually forced much needed change on the PGA Tour. These are now must-watch events versus just your typical PGA Tour event missing more than half of the best players in the world.
Only gets worse with age. I'm half a century years old in a few months and cold weather golf sucks. And I say this knowing full well that a coming from SoCal I have no idea what real cold weather golf is like.
Right there with you. Early 40’s and I’m in Florida. Anything below 60 is cold and don’t get me started on a north wind adding to that. I’m a wuss now and I’ll admit it.
Heading out to Phoneix tomorrow morning for the long weekend. Plan on getting a round in Friday afternoon and Sunday morning. Heading to the WMO Saturday, been on the bucket list for a while now. Meeting 9 other high school friends to celebrate all turning 40 this year. Looking forward to a lot of drinking, playing golf and a nice steak dinner. Being snowy and cold here in Michigan, it will feel great to be playing some real golf in 75 degree weather.
Friday through a Monday, no way any of us would fly out Sunday night. No wife and kids for 4 days . . . Spoiler
Also headed out tonight. Playing a round tomorrow and then lucked into suite tickets on 16 for Saturday. Flying back Sunday morning to catch the Super Bowl at home. Work Monday should be a lot of fun!
Nice, where you playing tomorrow? Prices are crazy right now down there, it was hard to even find an open tee time. Damn, I'm jealous about the suite. We are just general admission and definitely not showing up at 6am to get the good seats.
I think we’re playing at Legacy, which has crazy greens fees considering what I’ve seen of the course online. It was a last minute trip booked when my wife’s friend (who lives out there with her husband) randomly offered us suite tickets so we couldn’t turn it down. I think we’re going to The Chainsmokers concert Saturday night too. My body is not ready for this.
Sidenote: if I'm an elite player making more money now due to PIP, elevated events, etc it makes more sense to be an equipment free agent and use what is 100% best for your game. Also, if I'm a club manufacturer I would probably want to focus more on influencers like NLU to reach average golfers.
I don’t know about that. And others probably know a lot better than me, but it seems like the personal attention those guys get is priceless. as to the player part. Definitely agree on the second. Way more bang for the buck for manufacturers
Anyone get tix to the Ryder Cup in Rome? I didn’t get any through the lottery, but saw the email they just sent out saying there’d be a chance at buying GA tix in March.
There are other Tour trucks out there for independent fitting companies that are just as talented, but can pick from any brand of clubs. So it’s not as if the players totally lose the ability to have clubs tailored to their needs.
