As I understand this, I think he is saying we go 8-4. Time to shock the world and prove the naysayers wrong.
Yeah count me in the group that hopes he crushes it in Baltimore and gets Lamar back to the MVP level
just have to hope Kirby is keeping the playbook and terminology the same and its just Bobo, after a year of learning it, taking the reigns but Monken was a maestro in-game playcaller. He was probably better on the fly than on his scripted drives. So no matter who it will be a dropoff in terms of calling plays.
Monken was so good in big games. He had a lot of wtf moments for me in games we knew we'd win, but when it came down to a big game, dude was as good as any OC I've seen for my team. That includes Shanahan with the Falcons
actually is hilarious that 2008 Rivals Mainboard UGA posters is finally getting their Kirby + Muschamp + Bobo staff 15 years later. Its like a Showercap revival.
Also why he fit in well with Kirby because he'd be vanilla as hell on O in games we knew we'd win and then unload the clip in a championship game
I don't hate the Bobo promotion. People seem to forget 2014 is still the most productive offense ever with Hutson Mason at QB (maybe this year's offense did surpass?). Sure I blame Bobo for the awful SCar loss that year, but think he'll do fine with the current roster and a year under Monken. I'm fine giving him a year or two to see what he's got left.
I also feel bad for Beck. Bobo always did well with his QBs (so hopefully that continues), but Beck looked amazing last year in Monken’s offense.
Thing I loved about bobo was the toss sweep. Thing I hated about bobo was the 3rd and long sprint draw.
def a good time to buy Gunner Stockton stock hard to not see him having the reigns with the loaded 2024 Defense
been a lot of Nebraska smoke on Raiola the past 7-10 days but suppose its good thing Wiltfong already had the Bobo article ready to run Georgia losing offensive coordinator Todd Monken to the Baltimore Ravens does not come as a surprise to Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola and his family. Raiola is 247Sports No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2024 class and has the Bulldogs on his short list alongside the likes of Nebraska, Oregon and USC. “As a family thats been a part of football for a long time you don’t have that kind of success in coaching and not warrant attention,” Raiola’s father Dominic (a 12-year NFL veteran after an All-American career at Nebraska) told 247Sports. “It’s awesome for (Monken), it’s awesome for the (Georgia) program. That’s a sign of a good program when your coaches are continuously wanted and they make steps in the coaching ranks.” “I don’t know think it affects much right now. There was always a chance of that happening.” Georgia has promoted Mike Bobo to offensive coordinator. Bobo obviously has a lot of experience including coaching the elder Raiola’s old teammate Matthew Stafford. “Having some experience with Coach Bobo and being Stafford’s quarterbacks coach (at Georgia) and having experience with Bobo and having people that know him it helps to know who the next guy (potentially) is for Dylan. “The first time we met him, we met (Bobo) maybe last April or March and Stafford has nothing but great things to say about him, always has.” The elder Raiola added that his son has been building a relationship with Bobo and has a great rapport with head coach Kirby Smart. The Raiola camp is still in the process of mapping out spring visits including a return to Athens, a campus they’re very familiar with.
Just watched a Dylan Raiola interview yesterday where he said it would change things if Monken left. And that was from a Georgia site.
I want to believe, but we can’t have nice things. Having Dom heavily on our side is definitely a nice advantage.
A buddy of mine paid Kelly to cater his graduation party about a decade ago. He was supposed to bring it over to the house a few blocks from the restaurant. An hour or so after he was supposed to bring the food, me and my buddy rolled to the restaurant to see what the deal was. As soon as Kelly saw my buddy’s face he put one and two together and goes, “Oh shit, man! I completely forgot!” He closed the restaurant for the day and just brought all the food he already had prepared to the party and hung out. Very cool dude.
seems like our guys are showing out at the combine S&C staff has done a good job. Cant wait to see Ringo run.
Kinda like the year before if AA wasn't a POS. Crazy to think that our best defense ever could've been better.
Elite athletes don't stick out to us as much when the entire defense is elite athletes. It's the burden we must carry.
Ringo had a 4.36 unofficial, interested to see what it actually is. But his vert and broad were mediocre so a straightline guy. Def played like a guy who would be better off in a zone scheme think tampa 2 heavy.
A lot of Athens time over the past couple weeks, culminating in what should be an all-timer of an evening. First show at the theatre since probably 07-08ish and absolutely cannot wait.
damn so have you not been in it since the fire/renovation? entirely different venue now, somewhat like The Eastern.
I’ve been in it, just no shows. Wife and I just walked around north campus and it couldn’t be a more beautiful day up here. Dead because of spring break which is another added bonus.
yea much-needed and it helps break the Live Nation monopoly. I do fear for other venues (looking at you Variety Playhouse) that are getting boxed out by newer spots.
For sure. I was convinced he’d play the Fox, but I was at the two Bridgestone shows and outside of not really being able to feel Royal’s bass, sound was great. And they did their best to dial that in night two.
Pro Day on SEC Network rn, seems like a stacked roster of NFL head coaches there. Seeing how light the defensive participants are this year makes me realize how stacked our defense is going to be in 2023.
I only saw 3 head coaches were in attendance. Would never speak ill of Lassiter…Too many potential games left against him.
there were more than 3 just from who I saw on TV but i really was intending to mean all variety of NFL personnel dynamite drop-in on our thread though
