I was born with a cleft lip so surgery on day 1 of my life. Surgery to put tubes in my ears. Wisdom teeth. Tonsillectomy.
Played sports my entire life, been in two car accidents, got hit in the face with an Olympic weight bar when spotting a guy who dumped a plate. No surgeries or broken bones.
Not exactly spotting, was in high school with 8 million dudes from the football team in a small weight room, guy started to lose it, i stupidly tried to intervene and the plate came off with my face directly over the bar. I was standing on the side, not behind.
Shocked I missed this thread last year. 7 total: 3 open heart surgeries 2 nasal reconstruction surgeries ACL & Meniscus tear surgery Hernia surgery
We can just break down the word. Hydro is water. Celect = select. Tomy = to remove so they are just gonna select an area to drain some fluid. My guess is his lungs lol
Fucking hell, glad you’re still kicking it Good friend of mine had the widowmaker in his early 20s, doctors said it was a miracle he survived
Congenital heart defect. Heart stopped at 6 weeks old during a test, so emergency surgery. 2nd was the 1st day of my senior year. Last was a mechanical valve at 30.
Adenoid removal Micro surgery on left index finger Lateral meniscus repair on left knee Wisdom Teeth Removal Screws in left ankle Screw and plate in left wrist External Fixator in left wrist Fusion of left ankle
Welp - I'll know more on Monday but go ahead and tack on to my resume: Jaw - dreading this, first one was absolutely miserable. Nose - not my first rodeo and recovery time is fast as hell. Two parts of my left orbital - not supposed to be that bad and quick recovery but it's possible my eyelid will likely never fully open normally again so it'll be like I'm giving you a half-wink at all times. Or I just look really suspicious in perpetuity. I'm going to be pulling fucking Costanza's apparently moving forward. Finger - somehow my pinky got broken which I don't have to do shit other than wrap/stint it but I'm still trying to wrap my head around how I managed to break just my pinky.
Forgot about wisdom teeth being removed. Also had first colonoscopy 3 years ago and have my 2nd next month. At some point on the next 6 to 12 months most likely will be donating a kidney.
Tonsils as a kid Wisdom teeth Gallbladder and benign tumor removal Spinal fusion to fix broken back Bilateral hernia ACL repair upcoming: vasectomy
I didn’t really consider the Wisdom Teeth Appendix removal in 4th grade is the only major thing I’ve had.
Torn bicep tendon repaired a couple months ago. Might need to get shoulder surgery too if PT doesn’t help with the pain and range of motion. I also am concerned with long term effects. I don’t know which one is better in the long run.
I'm recovering from a simple scope and that fucking sucks. PT says shoulder surgery is the absolute worst to come back from and it's not even close.
right now I’m in constant pain. I wake up in pain and go to sleep in pain. I’m also trying not to take pain meds too much. If I can deal I will. I just don’t want to regret not getting it repaired when I’m older and having to deal with the pain all the time.
I had issues with my leg cramping up at night for a few weeks post op and it was impossible to sleep more than a couple of hours at night
I stayed at my Dad’s house that first week. That couch wasn’t it. Would sleep maybe 40 minutes and then wake up. Plus sleeping with the brace on, made things so uncomfortable
Put a decent sized hole in my chin at age 3 when I tripped and fell face first into the corner of my captain’s bed, parents elected to have plastic surgery done on it so the scarring wouldn’t be so bad as I got older
Had ACL surgery twice on the right knee. If it goes out a third time, fuck it, cut it off and give me a robot leg or something.
I've had three on the left. It blew out a fourth time and I said fuck it. Just wear the brace doing anything athletic.
Officially two weeks post-op and my flexion is pretty rough (as of Wednesday I was only at 75°). When I flex, it feels like it’s pulling on something, I would like to hope it’s not scar tissue already built up
Have you looked into BEAR ACL replacement? It’s relatively new and FDA approved. https://miachortho.com/patients-and-families/bear-implant/
No. Two different ones. One was formed sports team surgeon. None of them lasted a year. No clue why. Probably didn't go easy enough on them long enough but was cleared to do so.
Had some really tough ones: wisdom teeth, plantars wart removal, vasectomy and colonoscopy with polyp removal - THEY CUT INTO ME IT COUNTS!
