Man these parents (I’m guessing SAHM moms) go crazy on holidays. My three year old got a bath bomb and my one year old got baby wipes as part of their Valentine’s Day goodies.
They can’t just keep him there and allow him to keep biting the other students. Imagine seeing a new bite mark on your kid every day and the school telling you there’s nothing they can do about it. We used the Teeth are not for biting book. It worked when he was 1 or so and had this issue.
Oh wow. I got lucky and didn’t read higher than 100, tho the 2nd night I was drenched in sweat while sleeping. Hope you all feel and get better!
I had to have an intervention at my daycare after the 3rd bite in less than a week from the same kid. They moved mine up a class to get out of the room. Director said cant do anything until they hit 2 then documentation can start before they kick out. Said 2 out of the 3 parents that have the biters are receptive and trying to stop them, last parents dgaf. Shes already said when they turn 2 with how the parents act they should start looking for another daycare but has informed all the other ones around that the kid is a biter with no parental help at home.
I get it, but it is 1-2 and different kids and not aggressive. My son has also been bitten on the face and other areas
Just commiserating, I’ve been on both ends. My wife would raise hell to me in private when our kid would get bit or crawled over or whatever in daycare. When our kid started biting and had to be removed for the day, guess who had to get them and readjust their whole day? Either way I doubt your kid will get booted. Biting is super common and it sounds like something he will eventually phase out of. Our daycare had to eventually have a floating teacher come through to keep an eye on our kid.
When you’re in high school Valentine’s Day sucks be wise it becomes a weird social status holiday and you THINK that’s the worst of Valentine’s Day. But then you had kids and fuck this. So much trash and little crap all over my floors from 2 kids. I’m glad they have fun and smile and all but man so much trash and slime and crap being sent home.
Going through our first sick period with our 15 week old. Went from a baby who consistently slept from 7-7 with just two feedings to now being up for multiple hours at a time. In his defense, he is super congested with a fever, but man were we spoiled.
Hello Was nearly through the raising kid phase with the first one and the wife insisted on number two. Ultrasound confirmed there is a baby. Time to set the days till freedom back to 18 years.
My 2.5 year old son selected our current vacation to decide to stop taking naps. He spent the last 2 hours singing old Mcdonald and slamming shut around in his pack and play. I'm guessing 5pm until bedtime is going to be a disaster
Wife went to put the new insurance card in my sons glove compartment and found an empty box of condoms. Just the drama I wanted heading into the weekend!
Changing my 17 month old’s diaper, he grabbed his balls and squeezed. He made a face like he ate a lemon and yelped in pain… Then laughed and did it again. Oh the things they learn
My little guy had a great day today. He was happy and laughing all day long. Makes it pretty damn fun.
Been a challenging weekend with our little dude. He'll be one month on Tuesday, and these past couple days have easily been his fussiest. His mom and I each had our bow out moments yesterday where we just had to hand him off and go have some alone time. We think he got overstimulated/overtired when my parents came by to see him yesterday because he was impossible to get to sleep for more than 30 minutes the rest of the day.
Sounds like you’re quickly finding out the importance of a kids routine and how fucking with the routine creates a giant headache for the parents.
I would frequently take our colicky first for a car ride or stroller ride simply to give Mom a break from the madness. If it calmed him down that was just an added bonus.
18 is the goal We all miss the goal occasionally My dad cut me off at 24 when I was no longer a tax write off. That was quite the gut check
I've got a 9 year old daughter going on 18. I'm not sure I'm going to survive her attitude. It's like one second she's the sweetest girl and then shortly after i swear I'm going to get "catch me outside, how bout dat"
Car rides was my go to. My wife loves to just go for drives so our kids in the womb I guess got used to the vibrations and motion because both of them slept in the car anytime it’s in motion as soon as they were born.
It’s where yoga pants moms come to convene edit: seriously if lululemon was smart their retail stores would be attached to daycares
The only time ours sleeps in our bed is on vacation. He is completely out on pack and plays. It helped greatly.
Ew. I never want my child to sleep in our bed....especially on vacation. We're hoping to get him into his convertible bed soon. Then hopefully just travel with bumpers for a few years
Our son slept in our bed over his crib for the longest time. We got him a “big kid bed” and he will sleep in there and if he does get up in the middle of the night he just comes in our room and sneaks in bed. He’s good at it too cause I never wake up when he does it. Only time I noticed was my dog sleeps in there with him and follows him into our room when he gets up and I heard her pushing open the door to her crate more to get in.
He’s 2 and getting tubes in his ears tomorrow after repeated ear infections. I know it’s a standard simple procedure but it’s the first time having something medical like this as a parent so my anxiety is through the roof.
Just know...it's going to be a complete game changer for your son's health. It's been amazing just how less sick my kids have gotten before and after tubes.
As buckwild said it's a game changer on a lot of levels. Our son got it at 64 weeks (16mos) and it immediately helped him sleep through the night and his hearing/speech started to rapidly improve. He was a little behind, but not enough for therapy. Now he will not stop talking...ever.
Oh, and now ear infections are just drops for 7 days vs getting a bad fever/out of school for 1-2 days/cranky as fuck/etc.
That’s what the doctor said as well. He said he’s about to just be jabbering all the time. His speech is good but they said it will help with his pronunciation.
Very much the same. Our daughter got them extremely early....they didn't even knock her out she was so tiny and it seemed like all of her colds just stopped. But, our son couldn't ever seem to even clear an ear infection. Doctor said he needed tubes and his adenoids removed...he said when he went into remove the adenoids the consistency of the mucus in that area was basically like rubber cement and that's why he could never clear the infection. He's been so much happier/better sleeper ever since he got tubes. It's also nice to just put drops in their ears in the rare case they get an ear infection instead of antibiotics.
We had tubes put in at 15 months, has only gotten sick when daycare is closed. Only ran a fever twice since august and that was due to covid last month and the flu last fall.
