Unfortunate that aTm shit the bed vs Clanga on Saturday. Otherwise saturday would have been really fun. 1st and 2nd are set, but Tenn, Vandy, Kentucky and Mizzou are still fighting for the double bye
Also - I know no one watched that game, but LSU started some senior beer belly frat guy last night. Drilled two threes right off the bat. Pretty hilarious.
He actually got back in for like 30 seconds later in the game. Mizzou isolated him immediately and drove on him, and he took a foul instead of getting blown by. Was taken right back out
I get that we don’t have “sec refs” but we have the same typical awful refs every week. They may not be based strictly on conference but we damn sure never seem to luck into any of the good refs around the country.
As we are talking about this a Tennessee player literally stiff armed Jaylin Williams to the floor and they called a foul on Jaylin lol wtf.
Someone did a stopwatch on the Kentucky inbounds where they got a timeout just before a 5 second call was called 7.6 seconds
Me neither. When he started going up I was like easy layup, then he kept rising and I was like oh shit. Grandma in front row went nuts
In our broadcast it was mentioned Golden was undefeated against the new coaches, even with that 1 win totally forgot about Gates his overall work cannot be denied very impressive. Fanbase thought a young guy like Golden would be recruiting better, you see press conferences and figure kids wanna play for him but so far mixed results. I wanna give him 3 years at a minimum but we'll see how things play out. Riley Kugel is a very nice piece to build around if no one tampers and gets him to transfer (other schools are putting out plenty of feelers) or he leaves for the NBA. I will hold out hope Billy D will come back to UF until he's six feet under.
I’m interested to see how Golden works out. I mentioned It before but Norlander wrote a piece on him earlier in the season. Said he’s gonna almost exclusively build his team via the portal and not put a lot into HS recruiting unless it’s a top 15 type kid whose in Florida. Interesting approach that makes sense in some regards. But also kind of risky. As far as Gates go - he’s been awesome. I think we do take a step back next year as he builds through HS crootin. Also want to see how the system changes. I think he knew we couldn’t defend worth shit, so we sell out for steals all game. It worked out but Im not sure how sustainable that is year after year
James Petigru was a prominent lawyer from South Carolina who opposed secession, and he has one of my all time favorite quotes after SC seceded from the Union- “South Carolina is too small for a republic, but too large for an insane asylum.”
boy that’s a risk. It will work out sometimes but consistently I think you need some high school guys who stick around and develop to mix in. will be interesting to see how it works out long term.
It was a pretty good write up. Golden is an interesting guy. The recruiting stuff is about half way through. https://www.cbssports.com/college-b...e-florida-gators-on-the-recruiting-trail/amp/
A murderer getting POY over Wade Taylor IV is a new low for this conference that I didnt think could get lower
