Iowa dictated too many matches in that meet, but outside of spencer, how many shots did iowa take in 9 matches. 5?
I love wrestling but have unintentionally payed less attention the past few years, feels like it’s taking more and more effort to access the sport
I agree watching whole periods of straight ride outs with no tilt attempts is boring as fuck. However I have to ask, how much of your folk hate comes from Tom Ryan not coaching how to get out from bottom?
Ohio State is attempting a black out this Friday for their match against Penn State. Should really tilt the scales in our favor lol More like I'm gonna have to black out to want to watch this match! LMBO!
Any you OSU guys watch the dual? About 3 sequences from being very different, you almost scored three upsets and then the low/unranks went mostly our way
They really don’t have any wrestling fans anymore. I think they stopped watching when Kyle became a nit
I only caught the first half. Not sure why we didn’t have a lot of our starters going in the upper weight classes. Carson Kharchla, Kaleb Romero, and Gavin Hoffman all sat out tonight. I thought D’Emilio and Gallagher were gonna pull the upsets. Smith was right there. I didn’t think Heinselman ever got close. Tom Ryan is just an insanely frustrating coach to support.
Yeah that was a light lineup, wanted to see Pinto and Allred, who are fun young guys, face more seasoned better guys
This team is a way better watch than recent Tom Ryan teams. Ethan Smith just can never win tough matches, Paddy was kinda screwed by the stall point and nearly had that late takedown. Think D'Emilio definitely wins his match if there wasn't a 5 minute review, Nebraska guy was absolutely gassed
Really impressed by Gallagher, he didn’t let Robb do anything he wanted, which he tends to do this year
Hey man I still watch. But our nit rivals are just too good and you guys are too mean bringing up Kyle and Martin pin all the time.
I helped start a HS program this year. It was technically the 2nd year the school has had wrestling, but for all intents and purposes this was the first season of existence. They had like 5 kids and under 10 matches last year, so it's hard to count. Anyway, I'll keep y'all posted with our results next year if y'all want, but this year we only had 2 make it to state and then both went 0-2.
Randomly watched a Gordon Ryan-Bo Nickal BJJ match from a few years ago, don’t think I’ve ever understood a sport less.
I keep waiting for Bryce Meredith's MMA career to take off but seems like that's never gonna happen. Sucks they let dudes fight until they're like 45 instead of giving younger guys a shot
Pumped for Bo's first UFC fight in March. He seems like he's on a rocket ship- recently signed with UFC and Betr
And right after I posted that I see Bryce signed with Bellator. Fighting March 31st lfgggg UFC's loss but at least they have old dudes
I haven't watched him as much as Bo & Bryce, but I think Cassar is on the same trajectory. I find it really easy to cheer for these elite wrestlers as they transition to MMA, regardless of where they went to school.
Iowa is obviously much better than Ok State but the ability to get leads, stop wrestling, and not get called for stalling is just prodigious
IU won 3 B1G duals for the first time since the 15-16 season Going into B1G championships with an 8-5 overall record >>>> being like 3-12
Wyoming going 1-10 in duals on the year was pretty brutal. Losing Buchanan to OU hurt but come on Branch you've been talking up your recent recruiting classes... Think losing Ethan Kyle and Teyon Ware from his staff has had a big impact on development
Zero posts during conference tourney week? What's going on?!? All 5 Husks who made it to the semis won and are in the championship! GBR!
D’Emilio is a 9 seed and is wrestling for 3rd so there is that. I think OSU has done ok so far other than Mendez losing last night and again today wrestling for 5th.
That went about as well as could realistically be hoped for. Frustrating match. Fuck Iowa. Brock has an honest chance to beat him at nationals.
CMU's Johnny Lovett moved down to 149 from 157 this season and he struggled early in the year. He has won 15 of his last 19 matches, including a 7-5 decision over George Mason's Nate Higley in yesterday's MAC championship. Now riding a 12-win streak
