Youth Group Region is absolutely loaded. Got Reliant K over DC Talk though. I’ve got P.O.D. and Skillet facing off in their regional. Flyleaf with a Cinderella run to elite 8 before running into TFK Michael W Smith running an absolute gauntlet of Casting Crowns, TobyMac, and Steven Curtis Chapman BTW it doesn’t seem quite right for TobyMac to be in solo and also have DC Talk as a 1 seed but it also would feel wrong to be missing either of them.
I’m not opening that tweet for algorithm reasons but is Need to Breathe on there? Their lead singer had a solo project called Wilder Woods which is pretty good.
My wife just got one and is obsessed. She let me try the water she had the other day and it was pretty good tbh (think it was berry pomegranate or something). Then she let me try a coffee flavor today and I couldn't believe how good it was (thought it'd be terrible). She ordered me one so we'll see how this goes.
Everyone is dead at the end of every Knight song and I am here for it. The style is not for everyone but I have always enjoyed it.
I fell asleep watching Collateral the other night. Since then, I've been rocking Audioslave. So fucking good.
I was in the top 2% (98%?) of all Spotify users last year, just in terms of hours played. It really is always on. Even when working I put on shit with no words. If I'm awake for 16 hours/day, I have shit playing for 10-12 hours/days
I don’t know anything about NTB besides them being a huge Christian band going back the last 10 years or whatever. I heard Wilder Woods on SiriusXM and liked it and then found out he was NTB’s lead singer.
I think Kirk Franklin could make a lot of noise, but running into Amy Grant in the rd of 32 is brutal.
I went to a Mariners game unfortunately on the day Cornell passed. Between every inning they just blared Soundgarden and Audioslave so loud. PA guy may have gotten fired but it was worth it.
You wanna have a good time? Listen to Audioslave radio on Spotify. Been a steady dose of Rage, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Offspring, System of a Down. It's been a nostalgic afternoon. They throw in Linkin Park every now and then, though. System of a Down is/was so fun.
It was later in their career, but I loved Americana. Just not that stupid pretty fly for a white guy song. And it's such an iconic album cover Spoiler
Does John Mulaney have a new special? Been seeing a lot of him on my IG lately https://www.instagram.com/reel/Co9yDUDDy5S/?igshid=MDJmNzVkMjY=
Got a little too adventurous and ordered some grilled octopus. Obviously I'm a hypocrite since I eat other meat but it was a bit unsettling since it looked like they just pulled it out of the ocean 5 minutes prior. Also I didn't know the beak wasn't removed and I only found out after I bit into it.
The Killers just came on. Think they get a bad rap from the popularity of Mr. Brightside, but they're a quintessential rock band. Saw them at Hangout Fest like a decade ago and they fucking rocked it.
Meant to post this in the random thoughts thread, but yes to your latter part I thought about this a couple minutes after ordering but was too chicken to change what I asked for.
Just feel like it's synonymous with drunk college white girls? I like it but it's certainly overplayed. Maybe bad rap was the wrong term. Underrated I guess? And their lead singer has an amazing head of hair.
"Somebody told me" came out my senior year in high school and god damn I have some fond memory of that time. It's one of a very small number of songs that I have never grown tired of listening to.
The killers are awesome. Mr Brightside is a tremendous song. Pretty incredible it was the very first song they wrote/made. Unfortunate it’s kind of synonymous w annoying frat stars.
Offspring radio just played this. Fucking right In high school my friend's dad drove us to see Blink in Atlanta. They had the word "FUCK," like 10 ft tall, in the background that just burst into flames when they came on stage.
I’m here for the System love. One of the few bands that I was super into but never saw live in my 20s.
I was at a birthday party last night at a bar and there was a British guy that studies and writes about music. He had two really cool factoids: Since 1950, there have been something like over 8,000 songs about trains. That comes to almost 10 songs/year about trains. He surmised that musicians like writing about trains because of the rhythm of the train tracks. He went more in depth but I was a little tipsy. He's also read studies that listening to music is great for brain function, something like people that listen to a bunch of music are shown to be of higher intelligence. So you're all welcome.
ahhhh holy shit. High school Nug would listen to this and get hyped for 2A private school football with hundreds of ppl in the stands Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness is up there in GOAT-status
Getting a haircut last week and heard a lady on this shit in 2023. She was telling folks Hotel California was a satanist song about hell. Ask her where she heard that and surprise it was facebook, but she did her own research and found it was true. I looked it up on my phone and showed her there were 10 plus links stating different meaning about the song. She got pissed and said all the others were liberals trying to cover the real meaning.
