It was a roller coaster of a post. Started off with a “you should try having rich parents” vibe then we get to a no context bush sighting.
I love all seafood except octopus and squid. But they do love their pulpo in Mexico. And they're basically sentient, which makes it questionable from a moral perspective.
TBF, if you live in California, Hawaii isn’t too expensive to get to. Almost every one of my cousins went there for their honeymoon. It’s like the Niagara Falls of the west coast.
Super regional or good football game is what I was hoping for Alaska is obviously pretty easy to make an excuse to travel to
With how much you travel it's actually pretty surprising you aren't a squid or octopus guy I'm not sure how you made it through a Peru trip without having ceviche de pulpo multiple times (apologies if I'm misremembering you taking a trip there) In San Sebastián there are baby squids in Olive Oil at like half of the pintxos spots and obviously fried calamari is on an absurd amount of menus in the U.S. No judgement, just surprising
It's not the cost, I just already know a trip to Hawaii results in him getting a phone call the first day there and "having to fly back"
This is fair - Separately I feel like Professor Moriarty owes the board a further explanation on his first time seeing a shaved vag on aforementioned Hawaii trip.
for my own sanity this is 9 right? Really hung up here on the 2 next to the parenthesis without a symbol, I’m assuming multiply like it’s an x
It's 9. - People get to this point in the equation, 6 / 2(3) and try to solve RIGHT to LEFT, instead of LEFT to RIGHT because they don't understand that you look at it like this PE(MD)(AS) instead of this PEMDAS - Multiplication and Division are interchangeable and treated as 1 step, it's whatever comes first, LEFT to RIGHT. - the same thing once you get to addition and subtraction.
I've tried it plenty of times, just never hits for me. Rarely eat anything fried unless it's an oyster poboy. Had the best ceviche of my life at La Mar Cevicheria in Lima, pero no pulpo. I've probably eaten more grasshoppers than squid/octopus in Mexico the past few years.
So no on like Ika Nigiri, Chipirones en su tinta, Ikayaki, etc Nothing wrong with grasshoppers/crickets/ants
Me gusta nigiri con pescado y camarones, pero no pulpo o squid. I've had Chipirones en su tinta and was not a fan, maybe it was the visual. Seen ikayaki on menus but never ordered.
Also I don’t know why, but it bothers me that whether you multiply or divide first for that equation depends on which comes first. Like I said I don’t know why it does, but it do.
Have to love MLS thinking it's fine to think if you don't currently like squid or octopus that the solution is going to a fucking Michelin 3 star in Spain to alleviate that
With that said - squid and octopus are great so I'd definitely encourage you to try some other preparations there.
It was an example, txipiroi (squid) is a huge component of Basque gastronomy that you literally made me study for like 3 months
Grilled octopus with lemon, garlic, olive oil and chili flakes (or some version of this flavor profile) is delicious
Thread is making me hungry now. There's a Sicilian place we like that has Octopus grilled with some olive oil and lemon, dynamite.
