My wife has one that’s tie dyed that she bought because she liked the shirt. She couldn’t name a single song if she had to. Same with all her Metallica shirts.
I’ve love squid and octopus my whole life. As a kid my uncle (rip) would take me to TJ with him and we’d get these cocktails called “campechanas” basically sea food cocktails from street vendors. They came with octopus squid oysters fish shrimp etc always loved to this day I’ll get them when I can.
Seafood cocktails are fire - I've got I guess more of acidic palate so I love the Peruvian ones but I'm definitely getting one from anywhere middle/South America if I see it for sale.
My mom literally takes anything Ethan says as gospel. Woman, I grew up in a trailer and got into Yale.
It's not even jealousy it's just very clear you're the son my mom always wanted so I'm like a second class citizen stuck searching for tortoises
I'll move it to the stupid wives thread but honestly hillbilly is one of the more flowery ways to describe where I grew up Also tell me you've recently rewatched "Wedding Crashers" without telling me
I've seen a couple that big in WA. They're big MFers. Back in the 1920s, before Olympic National Park was formed, some hunters relocated goats to the Olympic Peninsula for sport. Being an invasive species they've caused more harm than good and only have like a 70% survival rate. So the local and national agencies annually relocate them to the Cascades in inner WA and every summer you can see helicopters over Seattle with goats hanging down. It looks like Dumbo Drop: Spoiler https://www.seattletimes.com/seattl...-olympics-last-summer-how-are-they-doing-now/
How many goats will they suspend at once while they fly? That picture makes it seem at least 3. That can’t be a very smooth flight.
I think only 2 or 3, can't imagine it's smooth. They talk in the article about how they generally transport less than 100 per year due to logistics. I was approaching a summit by myself once and this fucker gave me a heart attack Spoiler One of the cooler pictures I've taken. Big ol mountain goat with Dragontail Peak in the background. Me and a buddy did some hikes up here last summer, there had to be 20 goats in the area. They were everywhere. Spoiler This is now the goat thread.
Concerning your first picture, my initial thought after seeing the video of the goat walking on flat ground trail side was I’d much rather see it there than have it pop up over the side of a steep face cliff out in the middle of nowhere unexpectedly. Great shots.
Pardon the ignorance, but are these monsters aggressive? Or if you let them be, they return the favor?
They mostly don't mind you if you let them be. But there are always dumbasses that try to get close and pet them -- think the stupid videos of tourists getting out of their car at Yellowstone to harass bison. Every couple of years there's a hiker that dies due to being gored, i's happened twice since I've lived there. I'm sure the hiker was getting closer than recommended. One thing is if you're camping you need to pee far away from where your tent is. They're attracted to the salt from your urine and if you pee on a rock, generally within 10-15 minutes there will be a goat there licking the place you peed (if they're already in the area). So you don't want to pee right outside your tent and wake up to a bunch of horns right outside.
Found one more from when we were backpacking in the Olympics in 2018. This is the biggest one I've ever seen and he was around our camp all night. We were walking like 100 yards away from our tent to pee and he was just doing circles following our piss. It was quite annoying. But I did snag an epic pic Spoiler
