I think it’s unfair as fuck to even try and talk down to magic fans. The players we went to finals with abandoned us. We didn’t even get a window to win a title. It was like 1 years, that’s just torture
Marlins won two titles, Heat have won 3 or 4. South Florida and Orlando aren't the same thing. Once again trying to tell Magic they should feel good about our history is complete bullshit and not remotely fair to us
The Hornets have never made the conference finals. The Hornets haven’t won a playoff series since 2002.
There's a big gap between "the Magic have a rich and illustrious history" and "the Magic are the number one most cursed franchise in basketball." Because you are bad and you should feel bad. But you're not the most bad
The Clippers have also never made the conference finals. The Wizards have gone 45 years straight without having a 50 win season
also had the franchise taken away. got emeka okafor instead of dwight first year back and mkg instead of AD after the worst season in NBA history poor magic making two finals they have it so much tougher
this is a fun exercise Blazers get one title and MVP from Walton before he bounces and then lose coinflip and Olajuwon to Houston, drafts Sam Bowie over Jordan Drafts Sabonis only to get him a decade + later lose two finals to Pistons and Bulls Drexler bounces to Houston, gets his ring blows 16 point lead in WCF to Shaq & Kobe and Tim Donaghy Jailblazer era drafts Oden over Durant Brandon Roy's premature retirement other notable tidbits; drafted LaRue Martin over McAdoo and Dr. J Wally Walker over A. Dantley and R. Parish Mychal Thompson over Larry Bird Justin Jackson over OG Anunoby
Once it's a double digit draft pick you don't really get to complain, it's such a crap shoot at that point. Every team in the league could list something like that practically every season
oh I know, some in our fanbase cling to that kind of nonsense. "ARRRRGGGGHHHH we could've had Giannis" or "Should've drafted Jokic" Yeah, no guff, Chet...every team that passed can say that
If this is the case I don’t think he’s taking it seriously and his comments about getting help weren’t real. That’s a shame if he went just to fulfill the leagues ruling.
It seems like a pretty blatant attempt at “flipping” the narrative, just seems like he doesn’t give a shit and was told he had to in order to avoid some of the scrutiny. Unlikely he’s any less of a dumb asshole
“You can feel how these hollows feel” Beats up teenager Pulls up at Footlocker Whatever the fuck happened with the red dot and the pacers Adam Silver “but he said he’s sorry and he really meant it guys.” Joke commissioner
Is this the kind of thing he can't get help with while also playing? I get what you're saying, but we're not talking about addiction/rehab here. I don't know what should have happened here, but if he didn't break the rule that would have led to an automatic 50 game suspension, I'm not sure what the league was supposed to do.
You could be right. The optics of saying you’re getting help and going for treatment for one day, even if the rest is therapy and outpatient is a bad look. Don’t make this grand statement about going away and getting help. Just say I’m starting and continuing my journey. Just feels flat to me personally.
Nerdy NBA writers seem to be addicted to flowery, fawning prose whenever they write about Jokic. Like they're all in a contest to see who can come up with the best metaphor for how much they love him. I can see how it would get annoying if you aren't a fan.
