What do you guys think Vegas SRO experience will be like? I can’t talk myself into 2k yet. SRO is 500 for the 3 days in the pink zone. Amex Presale for the next release is 3/20.
Has anyone heard anything about the Canadian GP? Might be a good one that’s kinda close. Was thinking about that or Mex City. Although I’m sure Montreal can get expensive.
Its been some time since I was at Montreal really before I could enjoy the more adult activities of the city. With that said the track area is really awesome... we sat at the hair pin and it was amazing views. My dad and I are talking about going this year.
Zero chance the race or track experience in Vegas is any good at anything “reasonably” priced and by reasonably I mean less than 10k for the weekend for just the tickets. If you really want to go I would go to FP3/quali day and then head home on race day. After going last year, if/when I go again in America I will only go on Saturday and pay up for that rather than getting weekend passes.
A couple things First, if you buy a 3 day package for let’s say 3k. Those individual tickets sell on secondary market for like 200/500/2,200. So the vast majority of the pricing power in the ticket is for the Sunday. So think about what say 1,000-1,500 might do for you on a Saturday in terms of experience. Second, unless you are in paddock club or top levels of hospitality you are likely seeing two turns and a straight. Look at that map. There’s two sections where you might see more. So it’s a totally different viewing experience to what is on TV (and what’s on TV is incredible). Third, unless something crazy happens in the race (it did in Austin when Max got stuck in pit and Lewis took the lead), the most excited the crowd got the whole weekend was last laps of Q2 and Q3 as drivers posted times. It was easily the most “invested” you got in any of the driving action all weekend. Fourth, FP3 is a very casual way to watch the cars go round, see it, hear it, feel it. Fifth, there will still be tons of people there and the track experience will still be solid. You can still pay 90 dollars for a hat, you can still do great people watching, etc. Hope that helps.
good advice. After going to Miami I would skip race day and probably do fp3 and qualies. The race is better on tv. If you’re into motor sports in general there is usually some other good stuff on fri/Sat. I really enjoyed watching the Porsche cup races.
Any idea why driver team changes are announced during the season as opposed to the offseason like in most sports? Seems like a big distraction for everyone involved during the season. Just one of those always been that way things?
Right but most sports have a FA period that's during the offseason. I can't think of another sport that does it during the season.
F1 and soccer are the main two that I can think of where changes are agreed to in season. Not really sure as to why.
Leclrec season so far: 1. Bahrain - Have pieces of car fall off before you even cross line in Q1 2. Bahrain - Team decides not to send you out for last run w/ shot at pole for "tactical reasons" 3. Bahrain - Engine explodes while running in podium position 4. Saudi - take a 10 place grid penalty for running out of parts before 2nd race weekend even starts (never seen this in all years watching F1)
Honestly, being new to this, I just thought she was part of the team. Like an engineer or something. She's always there. https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cp4u9fKsrxK/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
