And that’s why you don’t just let shit teams stay on the ball hoping they don’t break you down. Got what we deserved for that passive bs.
Davies is alright so when we have to push him wide in order to supplant Perisic… and then Davies goes out. Then we have the inadequate Lenglet and the very bad Perisic. Dier is good as a backup but really shouldn’t be our starter. Romero tries hard but can’t do it alone. Forster frankly had a good game, several important saves I wouldn’t have predicted from him.
I don't. I think so much of the it's pointless to keep him comes from a place of people thinking he doesn't want to be here. Let's break up with him before he breaks up with us. I think that mentality is emotional and reactionary. I would rather him commit to a long term contract then let him go if that is at all a possibility. The team that we have brought in will not suit a lot of managers so I would rather see him try to make it work. I also think he gives us the best chance at making top 4, and that money is important to us. Unless you think we can bring someone in who is going to go on a crazy roll throughout the remainder of the season I don't see the point of paying him off. We are actually ahead of last years points total.
Who is going to come in and do a better job with this shit defense? Top 4 is still a strong possibility and even though it’s not winning anything (again) it should at lease make the job more attractive for the next guy. If Conte wants to leave at the end of the season, fine. He likely knows that Levy is full of shit and never intends to give him the backing he’s asking for. Deep down we all knew this would be how it ended. Conte asking for more spending and Levy refusing. Which is why it felt like such a weird fit to begin with. But firing him now would be short sighted and foolish, which… wait a minute… I can totally see Levy doing that.
Where is this narrative coming of Conte asking him for more spending and Levy refusing? I just can't see how people say that we have not been spending. Yes, we need defenders and that hasn't happened, but that is also partially on Conte and who he wanted and their unwillingness to leave.
The football has been awful. His man management sucks, and he constantly talks like being at the club is beneath him. Toxic.
Oh this is an interesting take. Conte is sometimes hard to understand. Maybe he was calling out the players?
i guess taking a little blame is better than none. I do find him blaming the squad he put together for having a shit mentality pretty hilarious.
I’m not doing this song and dance with you, but he clearly has had a say in transfer business since he arrived. If you want to keep defending him, have at it, I’ll enjoy the content.
Nuance matters. The team we have primarily existed prior to him. No song and dance. You are just wrong. I’m not defending him, just your dumb point.
Ok, don’t you have to go post by yourself and to yourself in the EPL thread. You miss yourself there.
I mean, he was right about Tottenham being perennial losers for 20 years, but LOL he's the manager of the club, not an analyst for Sky Sports. It's complete insubordination.
Again, I was with NYGator for a while on the “keep with Conte because he’s not far from a complete Conte squad” but he’s done a full heel turn and it’s beyond unprofessional. Revoke access to his key card overnight and text him the url for a google flights search to Italy. I presume the only payment he is due is the rest of his contract, which is only until this summer? Take care.
We've both said "so long as he wants to be here, I want him here." He's made his desire to leave crystal clear now.
Right, but there is a part of me that says he is challenging Levy to fulfill his vision and if that is true I want him her if Levy backs him. I still think this year Conte gets a pass for what he went through personally, and it is insane to me for people not to see that.
It's a heavy toll. But is he really "healed" emotionally/physically come August if he returns? We all grieve differently. No assurances that he won't be equally ineffective/distracted/temperamental/whathaveyou.
Talking about giving Conte a pass is very on brand for this loser club. 20 years of excuse after excuse.
