I paid $300 for a GTS in 2019. Not sure what WLW was around that time but never thought I would miss those prices.
The pickle pick is fantastic. Great job NYGator and company. So far I'd have them (1) Monkey rye (2) Pickle pick (3) Barrel of drunkeys I'm drinking the barrel of drunkeys right now. Enjoying it. I drink TMB picks a good bit. I have 40 something bottles in my cabinet and I gravitate towards the TMB picks.
Today after getting EHT, I swung by a 2nd place and decided to grab a cheaper bottle to keep for myself and try it. Chose BT over WSR, will report back when I try it
I just wanted something decent on the cheap end in case I didn’t like it rather than starting with OWA or Blanton’s or something. Then thought was that I’ll see WSR much easier than BT. Heard of multiple stores this week so far getting 12+ cases of WSR. Still will try some others when I visit my SIL in a couple months.
Let the BT sit and come back to it in a little while. Also try adding a drop or two of water next pour. Sometimes that’ll open it up a little
Yeah I watched a video before drinking and he mentioned he always drinks neat to start, that you can add a few drops of water or drink with ice or stones. He also mentioned getting it below the neck then coming back after a few weeks so was going to try that
Taters gonna tate. Mostly was commenting on the super taterish labels that are becoming more common with Starlite picks.
Maisano told me yesterday it's about to start getting much tougher for him to get barrells for store picks. Not sure what that is about didn't have time to follow up. Also his K Luke is flying off the shelves and he's distributing it to LA now. He said he does blind tastings with his K Luke barrels against highly sought after allocated stuff and it always out performs. I'm going to have to get a bottle of the barrel proof just to see for myself. It is hard to get.
Is there a resource to see when stuff is releasing in your state? Oklahoma seems to be a bit behind other places so I never know when to go looking for stuff.
Varies by state. I wouldn’t expect much from Oklahoma, who until recently, still only served 3.2 beer
There were a few states that had 3.2 beer so it was a specialty thing. When I worked there in 2017 craft beer was allowed to be regular, but everything else was 3.2
That was nearly a decade ago now. I'm not looking for BTAC or Pappy anyway. Just stuff like Jack Daniels 10 and 12 year. We get stuff like that hear. I just usually hear about it too late.
I can't really remember. I've never cared about Budweiser or any of that anyway. I know it's been close to a decade since they started letting breweries sell on location though which was the big thing for the state. Either way doesn't really have anything to do with what I asked.
FYI, all the remaining pickle orders went out yesterday. I still have about 8 bottles or so if anyone wants.
I haven’t drank much beer in the past 20 years or so because it fucks with my stomach and makes me fat. That said, I’ve had some really good IPAs lately that give me a really good buzz. Beer drunk is better than bourbon drunk unfortunately.
If I never saw Larceny BP C922 out here, paying secondary is the only way to get my hands on one unless I luck into finding someone with an extra they’re willing to trade?
We need to go to a place or you need to come over. I’ll ruin you on the good stuff and we’ll figure out your go to cheap bottle. Lizard doesn’t have Lizardville which would have gotten it done but they still have a decent selection. Have you done 4roses?
I have not That’s all I’ve tried so far for bourbon. I’ve tried a flight of scotch before and didn’t like any so have always just mixed crown for any drinks, nothing straight. Do plan to go back to it in a few weeks and try again
