So the pit crew had to wait 5.0 sec, how long did they actually wait? Stepped away from the broadcast.
Nando got him at the start but Checo did not fuck up the safety car restart like I thought he was going to
Ok, I saw the replay. Dumb. The rear jack has MAYBE touched the car but they all waited the full 5 sec before working, very lame.
Aston Martin with a Ferrari level master class today. An underrated aspect of the race was Aston Martin pitting Stroll way too early which got him over-cut by both Ferraris.
FIA should have gotten that penalty before race even ended. Lewis would have pushed and gotten 4th then I'd bet.
I turned it back on. Rosberg giving big credit to Russell as though finishing 5 sec behind a guy who had a total of 15sec added to his race time over a few inches left in his grid start and an inch too close by an immobile rear jack… color me meh
I guess you’d get an advantage if you’re set up and ready to go when the 5s is over as opposed to waiting to touch the car
Pretty hard to fuck up that restart from the lead. Are people really going to let the one restart in France be the man’s whole career?
I thought it was understood that you couldn’t touch the car during the penalty seconds. That’s why everyone hovers as close as they can.
With the relative parity at AM, Ferrari, and Mercedes causing them to split the points and the dominance of RB we might be looking at an all-time constructors championship blowout this year
At the current pace after Round 12 it would be 522 points for Red Bull and 228 for next closest...294 point gap with 12 races remaining
Someone made a comment during the livery reveals in preseason that it was a weird thing for people to pay attention to but .. Haas and AlphaTauri with such similar paint schemes was a pretty disappointing visual when we got the Kmag-Yuki battle. Need more inspired schemes next year
And brav-FUCKING-o to Alonso on the move to Aston Martin. I instantly blew it off as a last money grab but he looks like a genius at the moment.
Mercedes has dropped the ball with the new car design, but they (and to a greater extent RB) show what you can accomplish when you just don't fuck it up for yourself. Ferrari for years now, and Aston Martin and Alpine early this season regularly shoot themselves in the foot and finish back of where their car should finish.
FIA is a joke. Edit: To clarify, I mean a joke because they couldn't make a decision during the race, eventually made a decision, and then overturned their own decision a few hours later.
Of all the things that have transpired under the new regs this is, perhaps, the MOST believable of them
It's been said ITT before but to be the best in the sport you pretty much have to be a giant dick https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTR73Wqm9/ edit: one of these I'm going to learn how to embed TikTok's
dont sell Jos short, he is a giant douchenozzle, even beyond his competitive nature. He literally beat up his own father when his dad was almost 70, guy is a massive turd. Honestly given his dad I think Max turned out remarkably paletable
It would be really funny if Max's car is the one that keeps failing just enough to keep Checo around in the drivers title and watch them go at it.
Max going for fastest lap after both were told to dial it back shows just how big of an asshole he is. I wish his car had blown up on the last lap.
